  1. I had a lovely heifer from just such a situation myself. And the next year, a nice little bull calf. sold the cow that year, so we could stop fixing that fence.

The IRS could catch all kinds of things - commuting miles and work clothes taken as employee business expense, double dipping on med insurance premiums on Sched A, a "standard" amount for charitable deductions, funeral flowers and service tips as charitable contributions, etc etc etc

  3. Yep! Got a DIYer coming in this afternoon cause - wait for it - she doesn't know how the handle her interest from cashed savings bonds. If IRS would just audit all Turbo Tax returns with a refund we could make a dent in the debt.

As has been said before on here or the other board, tax software does not make a tax preparer, the john q public does not know enough to know something is wrong. have fix a number of turbo tax and have always made a client for life, especially when they deal with IRS on a CP2000 becasue they forgot something

  6. Catherine - I think our clients need to work togther & open their own tax prep businesses. After all they know so much more about what's required than we do!
