  2. Well, today I sold my practice to a very capable young man! I have taken down my shingle and have entered retirement. I just wanted to stop in and say so long for now and to express the deepest sense of gratitude for each and everyone of you and the sense of comradiry we have had here. It is with the most sincere part of me that I say I wish the each of you the very best of luck and success in the days and years to come. May the Lord of all creation be your ever guiding light! And until we meet again.................

  3. I think it is the Part B that can be postponed. Part A is "free" so they say. If TP has not yet signed up for SS I think he needs to sign up for Medicare at 65 to avoid penalty.

  4. 1. You can sign up for social security and delay benefits, not aware that you can do that for Medicare. 2. As long as the TP has Employer provided qualifying HDP health insurance then the TP can delay signing up for Medicare without penalty. 3. Once the spouse signed up for Medicare, her allowable HSA contribution drops to zero, so the TP contribution would be based on one person.

  6. I, too, are in contract talks about selling my practice. Last year, the buyer was going to write the proposal, but never got there. This year when I emailed him, he was still interested and this time I am writing the agreement. So far we have agreed on the main issues and now it is time to have it written. I am keeping some clients(relatives) and some non-profits.

  9. I was going on an extended International vacation / work from another location type thing and paid a bunch of corporate bills for the next 3 months. No problem I do it routinely with tons of companies. The document storage company couldn't comprehend it. When month 2 came around they sent me a refund for the extra 2 months paid and the very same week they mailed me a bill. The third month comes around I now have two bills and a notice that I'm late more than 30 days on the first one. Before I get in the office they are calling and threatening co-workers for not paying a bill that is now 40 days late. When I get back I send them a check for everything owed (which is now 3 months of bills). They apply the money only to one of the bills outstanding and mail me back my over payment and at the same time demand I make a payment on our outstanding bill owed.
