  1. The estate is an eligible shareholder. There was no internal change, just a change in stock ownership. That is not a reason to file a 2553.

  2. Not sure why you are filing form 2553 in that situation. Shares passed from decedent to estate to wife.

  4. There may be more to this. HOA's that are incorporated either file form 1120 or 1120H. If the HOA meets the 60/90 rule then form 1120H would be used. If not, they must file 1120. If it were me, there would be a lengthy interview with the client to determine the correct form to file. And yes, this is the first year that fom 1120H can be electronically filed.

  5. New client that had ACA plan 2023 with no advance credits. I don't know why in that case they don't list what the SLCSP is on the 1095A, but they don't. They were over 400% FPL, but with new formula that doesn't preclude credits. Looking up the SLCSP and putting in on 8962 resulted in over 4K credits on amended return! I know there are people here that don't deal much with ACA clients, so wanted to let them know it's available. I generally amend close to half the new clients from this preparer, so not surprised they missed it. Don't be a Jim!

  6. I suffer from auditophobia (I just made that up). I enter my sales from my accounting software and I enter the 1099s and I have a line item under my sales for "less 1099s received" as a negative number. It is only a couple extra key strokes but I can show that I have included any 1099s in my tax return if I am ever audited. Hey, I never want to have to ask one of you to represent me at audit and then have you think I don't keep good books and records. Tom Longview, TX

  7. I've never entered either of those forms. I just enter sales from my accounting software directly on Sch C. Less work.

  8. Ok, every year I forget to roll over the preparer information so I set it up in the preparer manager. This year is no different but when I set myself up as preparer & ERO, there is a red ! on the far left of the preparer/ERO manager and my information won't enter onto the return. Does anyone have any idea what is happening and how I might get it fixed?
