  1. I may have trouble remembering that /s.
  2. I have been here almost since day 1, and I do not yet know most of the names that are not used as their ID. Mine is obvious. Likewise, this website is public and comments like I complained about could be construed as actual options or instructions. Nothing is secret in the internet...
  3. Must be a matter of national security. Or of shredded tissue paper feelings....
  4. Let's see... If he only received half of what he requested, $30 Million, he receives 15 years in prison and $500,000 in penalties... That would leave him with an average of $1.9Million per year for his time in prison. Who says crime doesn't pay??
  5. Don't give up your day job!!!! GGRRROOOOAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
  6. It is a known ATX issue. Click on retry as many time as necessary. It is a program problem talking to parts of itself. Not destined to be fixed. Just click retry and go forward.
  7. Evidence speaks to the contrary. I stand by my post.
  8. Refresh my memory, but doesn't the regulation say that you are to report ALL income? As a CPA, instructing people how to circumvent the regs is a Circular 230 violation, and more importantly, a HUGE indicator of what your ethical and honesty base is?
  9. You may have been able to hide income in the 60s, 70s, and 80s but not in 2014. First step in any audit is providing the IRS ALL bank account statements. If the total amount of all deposits is greater than the income claimed on the tax return, then the audit will be LONG and sticky. You can run, but in 2014, you can't hide.
  10. I think he is in for a rude awakening!! He chose to live in New York.
  11. No gift tax problem. The gift is 50/50 Dad and spouse. Just no deduction.
  12. No. Gift to his son. I love all the people who think they know, then when the feces hits the rotator oscillator, they want us to break the rules. He made a bad business choice. He made even a bigger bad choice for no documentation. Now it is a gift to his son.
  13. Calculate using the highest interest rate. Send too much. The client will then get a refund in a few months.
  14. Another person who has NOT read the books being referenced.
  15. Such is the reason us honest and ethical tax preparers are having to deal with so much IRS male bovine scat!! I would turn them in. File form 3949-A and sleep well at night!!
  16. I have tax software for that.
  17. If the OP has actually read the books shown in the picture, then intent to deceive is proven instead of just suggested. Just sayin...
  18. No one that is liberal will admit to the fact that "loopholes" = Tax law provisions as passed by Congress. I doubt if a single liberal would go along with removing all tax deductions and credits from their OWN tax return. Corporations doing this are only exercising their freedom of choice under out current tax laws. Therefore, if you yell "UNFAIR TAX LOOPHOLE" and you still take deductions and credits on your tax return, you are a mindless, selfish hypocrite! My name is Jack from Ohio and I approved this message!!!
  19. And lots more factual information instead of conjecture.
  20. We have a GigaBit compliant network. Fastest available. Still have the problem. Tech Support STILL suffers from people not adequately trained or informed. Feel free to message me if you have other issues.
  21. WRONG information: <<<In the example I give for a hypothetical argument for a prescription exemption, I wrote that somebody would argue they could afford $100 but not $123. Actually, with the proposed Fair Tax it would be $130.>>> The price would be $100.00. $23 of the $100 would be sent in as tax. This is the most INTENTIONALLY quoted error. Example: If you have $40,000 income and you pay Federal tax of 25%, your income is still only have $40,000. The savings by the seller and or manufacturer would be the taxes that they would NOT pay. I think cbslee should only be quoting information from the books put out by the group that created the Fair Tax idea. Intentionally sending WRONG information out is the lowest form of political actions there is. For my part, the Congress will NEVER replace the tax code. They feed and thrive on the power to tax the populace and will never give that up. Period.
  22. This is a YouTube video you must watch!! The joys of the sport of Wing Suit Flying.
  23. 30 years, 30,000+ total returns and we have yet to see an SFR that is correct. A properly filed 1040 is always the right response to an SFR. jklcpa also mentioned a point that could affect the client in the future. An SFR that is correct can only have W-2 and/or 1099-R income. We have never seen an SFR like that. All have more things going on.
  24. Your practice must have far simpler returns than we see. NO SFR has ever been correct.
  25. I have yet to see an SFR that was correct. This is the reason to file the original return.
