  1. I hate manipulators, but maybe he is truly contrite.
  2. Lots of things remove themselves from the returns I've found. I hate this program with such a passion!!
  3. Just tried to open 3 clients whom already had some information input when the client was here. Opened them today to finish and get out the door. Took forever for returns that had already opened to open (had to reboot computer), then when files finally opened all of their information was gone....this has happened on the last 3 clients I have opened today. I am afraid to go in and look at clients that have already been completed, or all of the others that still have to be finished up...sounds like we may have to recreate every piece of information already input. If I had the ability I would tell the N. Korean dictator to aim his missiles at Georgia right now!
  4. And now, all of a sudden, in order to efile, if I have a Form 8283, I must enter an actual date that my client purchased the donated items....I have been typing in Various for years and even this tax season up until today!! WTH?!!
  5. April 8th and the input screens are extremely slow today. Enter W2 info and then hit Int or Div or another input screen and it just sits there, about a 30 second wait before it jumps to the selected screen. Told me that a created efile had been rejected before I even sent it off. Decided to reboot software and got splash screen and then a completely white screen with the blue scrolly circle for over 5 minutes before attempted second reboot of software, where it did the same thing. Rebooted computer....stared at splash screen for 8 minutes before I went to white screen...another 3 minutes and then finally got into the actual program. Really? On April 8th? I am so frustrated I could cry. Anyone else having issues today? Anyone else in on a class action after we recover and find a new vendor for next year? Lynn
  6. Standalone. I have an IT guy so suggestions are not helpful, they have all been tried. Just venting while I wait 10 minutes for a simple 1040 with a Sch. A to load.
  7. This piece of crap program is even slower today, if that is at all possible! Several second delay between moving between boxes. I know people have talked about E, and 8949 tu today it is happening with all forms. I input a number, hope it takes and wait while it grinds off in the background before I can move to a new box. This getting worse the closer we get to the deadline is complete BS! And it's taking on average 12 minutes for a return to open.....I am seething.
  8. Just got an email from ATX this morning informing me that Update 12.12 is here! Hey, thanks for letting me know a week after it has already been out! Not that I am going to download it after reading about all of the problems others have had with it. And on another note, client with a W2 and a Sch C-EZ won't open....rebooted software 3 times and the computer 2 times....just keeps scrolling......I am a total idiot for thinking that by staying with it that things would have to get better. I should have sucked it up and converted and learned a new program a month ago.
  9. I'm Jewish, so irrelevant here. Since I am Reform though, I work on the Sabbath during tax season. Monday night I threw together some matzah ball soup and called it good, but I am closing Sunday evening to go to my synagogue's community seder.
  10. Yes, I have all the correct, up to date specs, my IT guy has checked everything, have had tech support take over my computer and actually make things worse, and losing fixed assets is a random thing....sometimes my big corps with lots of assets (oh the joy of having to re-input old assets), sometimes Sch E rental houses, sometimes Sch C assets and not every return. Infuriating.
  11. Unfortunately, even if I ate massive bowls of Baskin Robbins Peanut Butter and Chocolate, my fixed assets would not reappear! Not even rebooting the computer made the 51 assets come back, let alone the 13 new ones I had input for 2012. Can I just re-iterate how much I hate this program?!
  12. WTH??!!! Return that I was just working on crashed the program while I was trying to add a state form....earlier today it crashed 3 times while trying to add back fixed assets that had been randomly deleted for no apparant reason other than this program is a worthless piece of crap. How can it be getting worse instead of better, the farther along we get????!!!
  13. Oops my lack of sleep is catching up with me. I meant to say that a 60% discount is not enough. The company should be compensating us for our wasted time. I haven't lost clients, mine is not that kind of practice, but the extra time we have to take in actually getting returns out the door has made some people unhappy. Input time, in some cases re-input time, going over every entry with a fine tooth comb to make sure things are calculating correctly..that checked boxes stay checked....and on and on. Not to mention the printing issue, where no matter what we uncheck, re-check, tell it to print, the program goes ahead and prints what it wants to anyway....already used 2 cases of paper more than I did last year for the whole season. Unless my unknown sales rep calls me this very moment and tells me that they were paying me $1,500 a year for the next 10 years to use this program in the future, I will not be renewing. Oh, and I have time to write this because a return with 2 W2s and Sch B and a Sch A has now taken 11 minutes to open...and still seeing the circle go round and round. Looks like it's time to reboot the whole computer for the 3rd time today.
  14. 40% discount is too much for this piece of $*%# software. Only if they paid me to use it for the next 10 years would I even consider it. I figure that's how much they owe me in lost productivity, revenue and extra unpaid hours I have had to work to get things done this year.
  15. It is an elementary question because partners/members of 1065s and owners of 1120S corps get K-1s. That is how the information flows to their personal return.
  16. None of that works for us. We have checked, and unchecked. We have tried checking and unchecking various combinations. We still get whatever the program decides to give us and it isn't consistent from client to client. It takes forever for the forms to load into the print menu and then I usually have about a 10 second delay before the Print button pops up. We feel like Forrest Gump and his box of chocolates.
  17. I am not objecting, I am merely letting people know that this warning pops up even when it is not relevant. It caused us to waste time trying to figure out what we had done wrong with the return, when in fact there was nothing wrong. With the problems we have had with the software, we suspect everything and triple check everything, so this popping up was confusing. We figured that the wording is poor.
  18. I update my forms every day. Still on 12.9 and the program is crap.
  19. Just a heads up because this caused some confusion in my office: Client self-employed, has childcare. After standard deduction and exemptions, there was no taxable income, so therefore, no child care credit is available. All Good. When we go into Check Return to check for any omissions or errors, the following warning popped up: "Form 2441 will not be transmitted. IRS requires either a credit, taxable benefit, or dependent care benefit amount from form W2 to e-file the form". Client had no W2, but we still wasted 10 minutes or so trying to figure out if we had done something wrong. Finally determined that it is just a very poorly worded warning. Why am I not surprised with this stellar product?! So, if anyone gets this, it's not dire.
  20. I believe we are all waiting until after April 15th to do that. I for one would be happy to join a lawsuit.
  21. Here is a new one that we had not yet experienced. Last night before going home I rolled over from 2011 the clients I would be seeing today. After rollover was done I clicked Return Manager. It went to Return Manager and showed maybe 12 clients in the Return Manager list...when there should have been roughly 130 so far in there. Can you spell heart attack?! Closed program and rebooted and then they were all back.
  22. Received nada. Why am I not surprised.
  23. We tried deleting the return and re-rolling over 3 times before trying both the soft and hard re-boots multiple times. I guess we will have to paste the link here also, although, really?, we shouldn't have to do this. I am so sick and frustrated with this horrendous program. As soon as I get a usable workaround on a problem yet another problem pops up that didn't exist before.
  24. Last night before leaving for the day I rolled over the returns of clients I would see this morning. Came in this morning and 20 minutes before first client showed up I tried to open his file (because it takes roughly 12.5 minutes to open a return the first time!!); and got a message that the rollover was incomplete and then it gave me a link so someplace on my hard drive where I needed to go perform the rollover...WTH??!! Did soft reboot of computer and had same issue; then completely shut down computer and booted back up again after waiting 5 minutes and have the same issue. It has done this to 2 of the clients I rolled over but not the other 7 I also rolled. Has anyone else had this happen?
  25. The same thing happened to me, and ATX software automatically checked the ITIN boxes (imagine ATX software having something wrong with it!). It took us the longest time to figure out that all we had to do was uncheck the box. So make sure that if you have that form in the return to go review and see if the program has done anything on it's own. We have had many problems with boxes checking, unchecking and/or not staying checked all through the program.
