  1. No problem with the update, no problem with the rollover of the clients I am seeing today. In fact, both of those super quick, yay! However, in opening my first client of the day, who has a 1040, Sch. A, C and SE and that is it, just took 9 minutes to open
  2. And it has now taken well over 1/2 hour for the update process on the 2nd reboot.
  3. Hmmm...ok, on second reboot of program attempt they all showed up. Apparently not a stable platform at all if things begin to work after having to reboot program multiple times.
  4. I thought in between clients, that since it takes so long to do tasks within this program still, that I would just roll over all the the clients from last year that I am seeing on Monday. Did that on Thursday for clients I am seeing today, no problems other than taking 5 minutes on average. So today I go to Rollover Manager, and absolutely no returns show up and any diagnostics say there is nothing to roll! 628 returns last year and none of them show up!! I am going to re-boot the program and hope it will let me open up my 1:00 client in time for their appt., but has anyone had this happen all of a sudden? Lynn
  5. Thanks for the laugh, however it is more rueful as I fear this may actually be true this year! What a joke this software is this year. And tech support is non-existent.
  6. Good luck downloading 12.5! I did that today, rebooted, while the program updates successfully if I try to open a newly rolled over return, then the program stops working and Windows shuts it down. I am beyond furious at this point.
  7. Downloaded 12.5 update, which took forever. Now if I try to open a return I get the message that CCH program has stopped working and it shuts down. I have an employee in my office who will be starting the easy 1040s on Thursday, I need to know if this program will work by then or not. If not, I will be sending ATX a bill for my original cost plus all of the lost hours we have had in the office over this crappy product, and then I will have to hurry up and get another program that actually works.
  8. I just went to the Download Center and tried to open 2012 Program Update.....I can't even get that to open to get to the screen to download the update!! Every time they "fix" their myriad problems they make it worse!! I am so fed up with this s$%#!
  9. Nope, not the fabulous state of Washington!
  10. Today I can't even open a return in the program! One day you can open, the next day worse. I usually don't stress as I don't even start seeing clients for taxes until February, but there are a few use/sales tax clients who still need paper returns which I used to be able to access in the program. Can't even get those clients open in 2012 to prepare the returns and 2012 WA sales tax returns not available in the 2011 program. So at this point improvisation is the word of the day.

    Rollover

I rolled over some of my clients, successfully, at the end of last week. I went into one of those clients yesterday to do some projections and had no problem. Today I went into the same client and it won't open and tells me that some of the forms didn't roll over and I need to close 2011, reopen, then reopen the client and re-roll them over! WTH?!
  12. I have a few sales and use tax forms to prepare that I MUST use the 2012 software for as the current form is not in the 2011 software, so I have no choice but to use it early for a few clients. Took me 2 minutes and 12 seconds to open the return....everything was great filling out the sales tax return, but it would not print from the print menu. I then tried printing the "page" and it took a grand total of 3 minutes 27 seconds to print 2 pages out in that mode. I don't even see tax clients until the 1st of February, so not panicking about this but I am not happy with the myriad of bugs at this point at all. I told them I would not be using this product this year after being a client for 13 years and they called me and practically begged me to give it another try, but what I have seen and experienced with them so far this year tells me that I should have gone with my gut and used a different software this year, and I will definitely not be coming back to them next year. On a good note, we tried rolling over all of our returns last night and it took less than 30 minutes to roll almost 700 tax returns, which is great! However, it takes almost that long to just open one of those rolled over returns.
