  1. And here is another issue....got back the signed 8879-S, but in the meantime input some 1040 info on another client. Went to open the 1120S to enter the info from signed 8879-S and the program crashed. Tried 3 more times to open the corp return and it crashed 3 more times. Tried again, and instead just randomly had it open a 1040 and no crash. Oh, and that 1040 I went into, when I check the MFJ box the checkmark doesn't stay, 3 times it was gone, and no status was checked. I am almost beside myself here with the amount of problems, it's not just day to day, apparently a different problem every half hour or so.
  2. No, not negative balance. Yesterday it worked, same scenario, positive balance....today I have to override.
  3. Just noticed that today the distributions entered on page 3 of the 1120S do not carry over to the Sch M on page 5. I had to override the amount to make it work. Just a heads up to everyone. This worked the other day for me.
  4. At this point, I think we can safely say that "Quality Control" is a misnomer with CCH. I keep envisioning the old airline commercial with gorillas handling the baggage...I think they have those same gorillas programming the product and performing quality control. Thank goodness my clients come to me for me, and I have a great relationship with them so they have been very understanding during this time of chaos; however, they still have expectations of me to deliver their return timely and every day I have doubts as to whether I can do that using ATX.
  5. I posted yesterday that after the update I had no problems, and had not experienced any of the problems that others had with the 12/8 update. Today though, while it doesn't crash, I seem to not be able to have more than one return open at a time. If I have one open and then try to load another, after about 4 minutes of loading process I get the error message that I cannot have more than one return open and that the program is closing that return. Sigh.
  6. I saved everything I could, then downloaded the update from the site. No crashes, can rollover, can open, can print, and there is no longer a delay in switching forms. The only remaining problems for me are that it takes 4 - 5 minutes to open a return (9 - 11 minutes for a return that has not been opened before); and that I have gone into print preferences and unchecked worksheets, etc because I like to do that myself, and when I go to print something it is still unpredictable what pages I get. I tell it not to print the client copy of the 8879 because they already have one, but I get it and a planner and sometimes error messages, etc. Not consistent from one client to the next. I guess if these are the two remaining issues I have it's not bad...can cruise FaceBook while waiting for return to open, and just need to buy a heavier duty shredder! However, that is not to say that I feel completely ripped off by CCH and this long time user will be using the off season to demo other software for next year...I am done with this company.
  7. This worked for me too. When a rep from CCH called me on Sunday (!!), I told him about this as he did not know about it! He said he would take note and send it to the proper people...wow, just wow.
  8. I'm jealous. Returns still taking anywhere from 4 to 11 minutes to open depending upon the amount of forms.
  9. Do not uninstall without first saving Formset to your desktop, otherwise you will lose all of your information as I did. Tech support does apparently call as I have a voicemail from them on my office phone. They called Sunday (today) at 11:02 PST. I'm not even bothering to return the call, an exercise in futility in my experience.
  10. It is now Sunday and since i lost all of Saturday crashing and then losing info I brought work home. Have remotely accessed the office computer and opened the 2012 program. It showed that there were 5,441 forms to update....1 hour and 22 minutes later it has updated 3,478 forms.....so much for trying to catch up. I backed up to folder and I also have Carbonite. None of my previous work was in either the folder or could be restored from Carbonite. At this point I am grateful for the little things, like only having actually processed less than 10 returns prior to losing all my data.
  11. After being on the line with customer care today for over 2 hours, my associate needed to call them and got the same moderating message. She tried several times with no luck. Sounds like it's Beerthirty back there!
  12. Well, the customer care guy had me uninstall the program, reinstall, then download the program updates the the support site. Everything is lost. I had only completed a few returns since I don't really start until February 1st, but had a lot of things input and holding for info or the IRS.....all gone. After the reinstall though, rollovers occur quickly and when I ask a page or form to print, it does immediately. Just opened a rolled over return that had 2 rentals and Sch. A as well as 2 W2s took 11 minutes.
  13. It has something to do with the 12.7 update. I just had to uninstall the program, reinstall the program and then the updates from the support site. No crashing, but still slow to load a return, and I lost all the data for the returns that I have already completed. Thankfully I've not done many yet, but after tax season I will have to recreate those clients. The customer support guy was nice, and helpful, but basically a corporate apologist telling me that we will all look back on this and laugh. I don't think they will be laughing so hard when we all line up to file a class action lawsuit against them.
  14. After installing the 12.7 update I can't open any returns, keep getting the CCHSFS cannot open return, Windows shutting down. Great.
  15. Got hung up on after waiting and continuously pressing 1 to remain in the queue.
  16. Updated this morning when I came in, (not in office on Friday). I can open the program, but when I try to open a client, I get the error message that the program has stopped working and that Windows is closing the program. I have now been to all of the boards and people that have had this same issue are suggesting that a "reasonable" workaround is to just forget a rolled over client and open them as if they were new. While not a preferable solution, I decided to try it just to see if it worked. So, clicked new 1040 and got the same error message. So, essentially I cannot even get into a return in this piece of $&+! program! On hold with tech support, where surprise, surprise, the wait time is well over one hour. Any suggestions?
  17. Preview doesn't show the extra stuff I don't want, tried that. Have brand spank'n new printer. I think it's just all part of the numerous problems this program has.
  18. Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem....I unchecked the boxes in the print preferences to automatically have all worksheets and statements print, as I like to control what we print out for our clients through the print manager. Yesterday printed Client and Preparer copies of 2 accepted efiled 1040s. Went into Print, selected the forms I wanted to print. The first return (which took 33 1/2 minutes to print) gave me exactly what I wanted. Then I slogged on to the next return to print, selected the forms I wanted and I got everything!...planner, worksheets, etc; basically a whole tree came veeerrryyyyy slowly out of the printer. We have tried checking and unchecking, rebooting and all with the same inconsistent results.
  19. You actually got through to them?!
  20. I have resorted to jettisoning efiling for 1120S and having the client mail a paper return. Most of my corporations prefer it that way anyway.
  21. That is what I have done. The forms calculate correctly, it's just that they still say Draft on them and the IRS is unable to process returns with 4562 in them until further notice. It was mid to late February, now I've noticed they say late Feb to early March.
  22. Yes, I have lost many hours of productivity in dealing with the problems. Fortunately, I am a CPA office and we do not send clients on their way with their return, we do some input while they are here, and then review and process later, so I have not lost clients. But,....when I want to switch to a form and it takes a minute or so to pull up the form that is already in the return, or print out an 8879, which takes 5 minutes, it is not a real confidence builder in my clients that my staff or I are at the mercy of this software. Many people have spoken about a class action lawsuit after tax season and I would seriously entertain the idea if some serious compensation isn't offered. I remember a few years ago we had problems (may have been the year they outsourced tech support to India, but cannot remember), they sent me a voucher for a trip to somewhere in the Caribbean, but I had to pay the airfare....wow. So essentially they wanted me to spend money to give me something, I live in Washington State so not a cheap trip to get there.
  23. I was actually able to get into an 1120S that had no depreciable assets and get it done! I did not efile, as the client wishes to mail. Printed 3 Filing, Client and Preparer copies of the return, a total of 22 pages in all to print.........took 42 minutes. I am now trying to send the 8879 and the first 2 pages of the 1040 as a pdf to a client so they can fill out a FAFSA form; 3 pages to be saved to pdf has taken 8 minutes and counting. I'm not even going to bother to call ATX as I will be on hold forever. Fortunately my clients are ok with things moving slowly, but it feels so unprofessional to have clients sitting across from you while the program slowly revolves and tells you that it is Not Responding. A real confidence builder...
  24. Last Thursday I was on hold for 40 minutes before I got someone. We were on the phone for close to an hour and a half while she tried to fix my problem. In the course of getting to know each other, LOL, she was told by a co-worker at ATX that they had over 400 calls still in the queue!
