I know the answer to this but want to confirm it. The local college calls full time 12 credits per semester. If a kid take one semester per year with twelve credits does that make him full time? The “during some part of each of any 5 calendar months of the year” is a bit wordy for me Especially the “of each of any”

I couldn't believe the prices I was seeing on HRB returns. HRB isn't the only culprit, I had an elderly couple come to me after having words with their cpa. All they had was SS, period. I told them they did not need to file because SS isn’t taxable unless ….. They couldn’t believe it, they told me this cpa was charging them $300 to file their return and he never told them they didn't need to file. What a theif

1040EZ so if you have one W2 and one kid, you don't qualify because you need a 1040A? So lets say 40 for the state and how much for the 1040A?

The real HRB preparers are nothing like the ones in the TV adds. And the get your "simple federal" return done free. What a bait and switch, I wonder how much they charge for the State return and efiling, or what they consider simple

Didn't mean to insult anyone. I took a HRB class about 10 years ago, it was not like what anyone here described.

That's just it. Of the dozens of former HRB customers I have done taxes for all of then thought the preparers at HRB were accountants with college degrees.

H & R Block is IMO is a big joke. A big money maker, but a joke. I have seen many of their clients. One told me the guy who did their return was their mailman. And yet they charge higher fees then the top CPA firm in the area. Do you think most of their customers know that people who are doing their tax returns are not really tax professionals? and that most have no formal education in taxes or accounting but are trained to use the company software and pump out returns?

I asked for a refund on 1/30/13. I'll hope all of us who requested a refund will get one.

The "where's My Refund" is useless this year. I check it and get "your refund is still being processed", I check again and they have no information at all, like the return was never received.

So when I googled TRX the other day I got dozens of complaint site etc. come up. Today there is none of that, just links for thei site. They must have paid one of those compinies that are out there who get rid of/push down negative listings.

The two retunes I filed using TRX still have not received their refunds. They were filed on 2/5/2013. When I checked “where’s my refund” last week, it showed they were still processing the refund. Today I get the check that you entered your information correctly. When I check cloud efc to get the DCN it is a strange number in that it does not start with 00 or end with 3 Not sure what to do. One return is my niece and she need the refund to pay the rent. What should I do

I went to the TRX website to get their mailing address and the site seems to be down. So is the TRX members site. If you Google TRX you get a bunch of rip-off reports. They so deserve this.

Ok I have a 1099B with three transactions on it and; Date of Acquisition not listed Cost or other basis is not listed Gain or loss not listed The first transaction list a cost basis factor; so I can use that for cost. The second two in the additional information shows “final Principal payment” Not sure how to account for this on Sch. D Thanks in advance
