  1. The answer is yes, we will have technicians on call 24 hours a day.l
  2. The old ATX Tech Support team is now providing 'Remote IT Services'. Remember all those times you've called tech support, just to be told that it's "a problem with your computer, not the program" and to call your IT person. This is a service that is now available to you from Virtual Managed Solutions, LLC . Using our vast experience providing 'software customer service ' and a determination to succeed, we will solve your computer / network problems, and we will do it quickly. Virtual Managed Solutions is a company that recently started up in the Caribou area, owned and operated by displaced ATX employees and staffed with the displaced employees from the Total Satisfaction Team at ATX. They are offering Remote IT service packages that include 10 support incidents and 1 Gig of backup space (they will create a scheduled backup of your data to a secure hosting facility) for only $500. We can also do more backup space, server hosting, web hosting, email and application hosting, virus protection and anti spyware. If you're at all interested or have any questions at all, please give us a call 1-866-674-4867, or visit them on the web. www.virtualmanagedsolutions.com
  3. Try this. Insert the CD into your CDRom drive Go to My Computer Right Click on your CD Rom Drive and choose Open In here you should see an icon that looks like a computer name setup or setup.exe Double left click this icon and the install should start. If during the install you do not get the option to install your states. Go to C:/ProgramFiles/CommonFiles/ATX/2007 There's a file there named something similar to atxlocalconfig.dat (I'm not at my computer so don't have the exact name). Delete this file Reinstall using the steps above. You will need to re enter your install codes.
  4. What is the error you are getting when you try to reinstall the program ?

    8453 Required???????

Don't worry if the PIN status says 8453 required, it said that in most prior years as well for many returns no matter what signature option you selected. As long as you used the PIN method the 8453 is not required, even if the PIN status column says so !
  6. Before doing the reinstall navigate to your atx2005 program folder. Right click on the ATX2005.exe and choose Properties Go to the Compatibility Tab and check the box for Run this as Admin. Click Apply Then do the same thing on the ATXBackup05.exe (could be BackATX05.exe) I'm not at my home computer. Then restart the computer and try the restore again.

    No IRS Postmark

Unfortunately the IRS Postmark field has never really functioned correctly, I wouldn't worry too much if it isn't filling in, the postmark date, if you do need it, can be found in the EFile ack history, under the EFile menu of the Eservices manager.
  8. You are very welcome, and chocolates are always appreciated :D
  9. If you go to C:/ProgramFiles/CommonFiles/ATX/2007 find the file name ATXLocalConfig.dat file ( I would recommend renaming it atxlocalconfig.old) instead of deleting, then reinstall if you want to start over. That file contains the customer number, install codes, install location etc... Just make sure when you reinstall you install it to the same place you already installed to... Not sure if this will solve the problem you are having or not though....
  10. A program update might help. You need to download the HTTP (slower) program update, not the FTP. The HTTP dowload will download the entire update onto the Engine.exe, so when you run it, it won't have to connect to the server. Give that a try and then see if you update/download some forms through the program.
  11. You can only delete EFiles that are in a Created or Rejected status. I would just try to ignore it , maybe it will eventually get rejected then you can delete it.
  12. it must be a 'new' rule for them. I did help several people setup a second EFIN - for the same address, just a different name, before the layoffs occurred. I thought that addresses didn't need to specific for the IRS. If a husband and wife both do taxes out of there home, aren't they both allowed to get a unique EFIN number ?
  13. Bill, You could send them the DCN number, they should be able to use that to identify the return. Beth
  14. That's correct, you need to fax Data Entry the copy of your second EFIN's status. Along with a note that this needs to be setup as a SubOffice under your current client ID.
  15. Bill, When you originally created the efile was it created as a Fed and State Only or as Piggyback ? If it is Fed and State Only, and something needs to be changed, you'll have to hope it gets rejected, otherwise you would need to amend. If it is a Piggyback, then you should send an email to tech support and inform them. On a piggyback return, if the fed is rejected the piggyback is supposed to automatically rejected as well. You can't recreate an efile that is any status other than created or rejected.
