  1. Thanks KC - I did try that without success. Isn't this only for W2/1099 ?
  2. Hi Nicole, Your tip for removing the "sign in" after transferring files from old computer to new computer worked great for ATX 2006. Now I am trying to do that for 2005, but that option is not in Repair. I did run the repair and that had no effect. Any tips for 2005? Thanks, HV Ken

  4. You too, Michael! And to think I was actually expecting a technical response to my post!
  5. There was information on this that came with your install disk. With Audit Shield, your clients can purchase an extended, three year warranty on their qualified returns for only $24.95. Audit Shield provides reimbursement of up to a total of $2,500 for any penalties, interest or additional taxes assessed by the IRS. Audit Shield is only available to taxpayers receiving a bank product.
  6. Finally installing my ATX 2007 software, and I received the following error: ATXXMLPrinterSetup Run-time error '-2147467259 (80004005)': ERROR: Cannot add printer driver (AddPrinterDriver function failed) [sYSTEM: 997 - Overlapped I/O operations in progress.] - TERMINATED This is on my new computer running XP Pro. Anyone have any idea what this might be? Thanks
  7. I received mine today via DHL. HV Ken
  8. Posted on ATX Web site on 01/07/08: Tax Season support hours of operation are 8AM - 10PM Monday through Friday and 9AM - 5PM on Saturdays.
  9. Just got this email from ATX today: From: "ATX" <[email protected]> Subject: Printing Checks with ATX Tax Software Date: Monday, January 07, 2008 6:02:27 P Dear ATXer, Electronic filing begins on January 11, and we want to make sure you are ready to print checks for your bank product returns as soon as they are available. The check printing process is somewhat different this year, so please read the information below. Check printing will be done at our secure online check printing center. You can access the online check printing center from within your ATX tax program by clicking the Print Checks button on the Bank Manager tab. Or you can go directly to the check printing center from any computer with an Internet connection by using the following address: https://ocp.atxinc.com. The online check printing center uses the same login procedure as the ATX support site. You can use the same Client ID, user name and password that you use to log in for support. As soon as you receive check stock from your bank, you should log in to the check printing center to configure your check printer and make sure that data will print in the correct location on the checks. Simply follow the on-screen instructions for configuring your check printer. Before you begin e-filing, please download the latest ATX program and form updates. The easiest way to get these updates is by clicking the Updates icon on the toolbar in your ATX tax program. A major program update is available now and bank form updates are scheduled for release on Tuesday, January 8. If you need assistance, please call customer support....
  10. Thanks - the 'repair - remove all users' did the trick! Not bad, got it all taken care of except for the preferences. Now to go back a few years.... HV Ken
  11. Looks like I also needed Masters\Latest and Masters\Modified. Anyone have any others? Two more questions: 1) When I enter ATX 2006 on the new computer, it seems to require a "sign in". Never needed to do that before. Can someone elaborate as to why? 2) Any way to copy the preferences over from the old computer? I tought it would be the "ATX2006" Configuration Settings file, but that didn't seem to do the trick.
  12. Hi. Got a new computer for this tax season. Installed ATX 2006 from the year end archive CD, got any additional Updates from the internet, copied over the "Database" folder, but when I enter a return, I am greeted with this pop-up: Missing Form / Incorrect Version This return contains later versions of certain forms than those installed on this computer. Click Update Now to automatically download needed forms and updates for this return. While this process works, it seems I need to do it for every return. I expect there is more files/folders from the previous computer that I need to copy over, but I cannot figure out which ones. Can anyone offer some advise? Thanks, HV Ken
  13. When I was on the phone with ATX tech support this am, the rep told me that they are asking customers that used the ATXers community to provide feedback via the Suggestion Box and that they are counting the number of comments they receive via this avenue. Come on gang - let's at least go down swinging! (By that I mean - putting up a fight) Share why the ATXers community was so important to you. Don't let us the ones to blame. Rah rah rah! HV Ken
  14. I needed to call the ATX support number this am, and asked why "ATX Chat With Tech Support" still was showing as UNAVAILABLE, even though it is within published support hours. Phone tech told me that chat support was discontinued effectively immediately. The times I have used chat support, I found it to be very effective. With the loss of first the ATXers community, and now Chat support, their phone lines (assuming they also don't get cut) are going to be backed up.... HV Ken
