  1. JMO but: The conversion software did a nice job of converting the information. I still need to have the old software open for reference but it is better than expected. I wish the efile worked better than it does. It's goofy the way you get the reports and stuff and I'm never 100% sure I'm doing it correctly even with the instructions. Some of the warnings are virtually impossible to wipe out. I wish the bank account numbers for automatic deposit would flow through better when I enter them. ATX was easier to use and this is about as complicated as ProSeries. What I absolutely LOVE is the quickness the program opens and you are working. With ATX it would take more than a minute just to open the software and then a long time to get a return open but this software is up and running in 15 seconds and I'm in a return almost instantly. Absolutely love that in my practice.
  2. I don't mind the software. It's got some really quirky things about it (hate the assets for depreciation entry process), hard to see where numbers flow and the statement / notes section at the end of the return is HORRIBLE. Not enough of a pain that I can't get past it but this "email" is worrisome. The lack of information being supplied is just plain scary. Well, back to work!
  3. Thanks. My state was in the 13 and I'm officially open for business.
  4. Any word on when state returns are expected to be available for download? I'm still not getting any email responses from TRX. Thankfully I don't have any tax clients until February 1st.
  5. I received the letter in the mail last Saturday but still haven't received the software package. They aren't returning emails or phone calls inquiring about the delay.
  6. I received the letter but as was stated, basically everything in the letter were promises unfulfilled. If you are going to send out a letter like that, wouldn't you think they would be contacting us with updates and explanations when they fail to deliver? That's what it means to provide customer service. It shouldn't be my responsibility to contact them to find out why they failed. They have failed to live up to every one of their promises thus far. The clock is ticking before I give up on them.
  7. I'm starting to get worried. The lack of communication since the merger has been horrific and the lack of product coming out is scary. Why on earth are we not all being shot an email with expected dates and software details? Hearing about what other people are being told privately when this stuff should be distributed to ALL clients isn't a good thing at all. It's all very similar to the customer service problems I had with ATX that made me look elsewhere to begin with.
  8. I've heard nothing from the company directly. Any idea when we'll be receiving a working copy so I can transition my old files into the new software? Oh, and of course practice and tinker with the program itself a little.
  9. It has come to my attention that TRX Pro is a 16 bit program. If you are running a new computer that has a 64 bit version of Vista, TRX Pro will NOT work. Very few people probably actually have the 64 bit version of Vista but it's possible. I wish TRX would have disclosed this information to me earlier in their technology requirements. Oh, this isn't a bash of TRX software. I'm guessing there are several other tax programs not compatible.
