  1. I downloaded update #27. Couldn't print a corporate return - my state wasn't available on personal or corporate. Didn't do #28 but they are saying my state is available. No clue on corporate but the download says nothing about fixing the corporate side.
  2. They want our business and they are giving us everything for FREE!!!! Interesting business model. I'll bet it's all about the volume. The more they give away the less it matters. Notice how DanWil was the first person to continuously post this junk and now we are supposed to call Daniel? But none of the other posters are Dan, that would be too obvious.
  3. I generated a 4835 for myself and then the 1099 PATR - when I entered $109 into line 5 - it showed as non-taxable and didn't flow through to anywhere on the 4835.
  4. That's sad. Back in REALLY late December, Doug said the state returns would be coming within 2 weeks. As I've said previously, when I purchased TaxExact back in 2007, they never did deliver the state software for my state (or most states). It will be interesting to see if they EVER deliver state returns. The more I think about it, the less comfortable I feel that even if I receive a victory in small claims court that I'll be able to get $600 out of them. If you were an employee of theirs, you'd have to be sweatin that the paychecks will eventually start bounding. Since nobody is answering the phones, maybe that's already happened. This is one of the situations where if I lived somewhat close to Murfreesboro, I'd drive over and see what's happening. I'm about 5 hours away - not worth it.
  5. From Intuit Community: Box 5. Shows amounts you received when you redeemed nonqualified written notices of allocation and nonqualified per-unit retain allocations. Because these were not taxable when issued to you, you must report the redemption as ordinary income to the extent of the stated dollar value. From a different website: Box 5 – Redemption of Nonqualified Notices and Per Unit Retain Allocations: Shows the amount the recipient got when he or she redeemed nonqualified written notices of allocation and nonqualified per-unit retain allocations. If you receive a non-qualified patronage dividend, the cash received is taxable income. If you receive a nonqualified notice of allocation, retain the notice in your permanent records, but no tax impact occurs at this time, only when cash is received upon later redemption. IMO you have to figure out (guess) what it is that the money is in relation. Have they heard of the company, have they used their services, if so how often and how long? How much money are you talking? Doesn't sound like this would automatically generate a CP2000 because a form wasn't generated since it could go a few different places. edit: my software says you MUST have a C,F or 4835 started before you can enter the 1099. If you are going to enter it, I'd start up a 4835 and then see where the software puts it. If your software doesn't have a 1099 PATR entry form, let me know and I'll run one through mine tomorrow.
  6. Still haven't seen my state come through as included and I haven't seen anything from the corporate side corrected. I did miss #24 so maybe it was in there. If someone downloads, let us know which states are included.
  7. Yeah, 3 people all joined TODAY to inform us of how wonderful a website product that is "free". I've seen at least 2 different excuses for how it's "free". Not buying any of this.
  8. They are liars. Obviously cut and pasting their message over and over in the same threads but then trying to say it's not spamming = liar. They could have easily generated a thread making a realistic offer and probably acquired a bunch of clients (maybe even me next season). Now, zero chance because I know their business model is built on being a liar.
  9. This onedesktax website didn't exist last tax season. No clue what they would have beta'd last year since OLTPRO (desktop) has been around at least 5 years. OLT has been around FAR longer than that. This entire line of posts is full of cra%.
  10. This board could use some more spamming. Multiple times in every thread. With accounts all generated today just so they can spam about a product.
  11. Hey Terry, I'll never forget this post: Matt I have kids that read the bad things that you have said about me on here along with my grandchildren I hope this makes your life complete since now you know I am human just as you are, Merry Christmas Doug
  12. I don't have a problem buying from a reseller. I was with TRX for 5 good years and a bad year. If I paid 40% off list each of those years, I still came out far ahead of buying directly.
  13. that's true with Taxwise. Hadn't considered that. TaxExact TECHNICALLY was up and running last year. I have no idea what happened between seasons but there is no way those people were using THIS software the way it's operating today. Doug said they did 50,000 returns last year. How that is possible is a mystery.
  14. That's not true. Double click on the entry field and the spreadsheet pops up making breakdown of numbers with information possible.
  15. I think they purchased TaxExact several years ago in coordination with a software company, ran a beta season last year with a few people and thought they'd just ago ahead and make the leap this year to boost their profits. If the tax software had worked, they'd look like geniuses with the TaxWorks meltdown. If they could patch it together, they'd probably be able to sustain their client base through the transition. Several times when they switched software, the year before they offered more than 1 program and then they made the complete switch the next season. If Mainstreet was offering such a great deal, why didn't TRX go back to Taxwise?
  16. Don't focus on TRX, the parent company is Adroit Software. I'm not 100% positive but I think Terrell D Hughes is Doug Hughes. http://www.adroitsoftware.com/ In 2010, TRX changed its name to Adroit Software. Doug Hughes on Linkedin shows himself as CEO of Adroit Software since 1984.
  17. First of all, the site doesn't say the software is free. It says you can set up a free TRIAL ACCOUNT for the demo. Doesn't give any pricing information which I hate. I absolutely hate when companies force you to call and receive pricing because you know they aren't locked into pricing. It's like buying a car, they'll discount to some, not to others based upon who cries the loudest and longest. Doesn't give a physical address of their company anywhere. I like OLTPRO - this is freaky.
  18. They are reselling OLTPRO. Maybe ultra basic online only returns are free. Have serious doubts they are giving away the desktop software. What he links to is the download for the DEMO. The Demo isn't the type where you can just add a purchase number and all of a sudden you have working software. Or at least it wasn't when I downloaded OLTPRO. Anyone posting the EXACT SAME THING multiple times is spaming.
  19. If you've updated to version #23 - are there any additional states available?
  20. If you would like a copy of their Facebook complaints, I'll be scanning them into a .pdf file this week and will email them out. Private Message me your email address and I'll mail them out when I can. IMO if you are going to small claim routes in court, it's a vital source. Each has a name, address and photo backing up the posting so while in a normal court it wouldn't be all that helpful, in small claims court I think it might be. Even with the account canceled, it's relevant.
  21. Tax Exact was an independent product that went out of business at the end of the 2007 tax season. TRX purchased it through a subsidiary a few years ago and brought it back out. It looks like the exact same product as what I purchased back then. Even the lack of state software is the same.
  22. Roberts

    Proof

I wanted proof others were making refunds because I want to show (in court) that it's the industry norm.
  23. Roberts

    Proof

There are 7 states that don't have any income tax for individuals so TRX doesn't really have anything to produce for those. 2 others only tax interest and dividends. The states they say they have software for - bet they are those states.
  24. Are the states showing up yet? How about the corporate side?
