I don't know if it pertains to the Taxwise software from Mainstreet. I have not been doing very many returns - only 2 so far-----Now I have 3 and 4 appointments daily. Then click on Taxwise User Community 6. The post is about 8 down the page. Now I am going to check out my Taxwise software and see if I get any extra ZERO.

I'll make this short. I went with Mainstreet yesterday for $350. They rolled everything over from Tax Works - set up everything in one day. Sure is nice to have a program that works. I first called Pro Series (before Mainstreet) about the $225. offer I got by email. The $225. was for a license for online. Then you have to pay for each 1040 - $45. and Business is $65. I didnt wait around and find out what state was. Great Deal, Huh? Anyway, TRX had a update #30 on Monday - 5 items. Yesterday update was #31 - 5 items. and tonight was update #32. Enough already!

I have had about 10 of these warnings so far, except it is Firefox and not Microsoft. See Page 161 in the User Manual for TRX 2012. The nofication warnings are a little bit different that I get. It always ask me if I want to allow the following program to make changes to my computer and I always click No.

TRX had a download yesterday TE40027 and I just downloaded #28. Also when everthing started going wrong (problems) I quit with a test return. I started keeping up with all the problems everyone was having with the program here on this message board. A couple days ago I started a new test again and see how far i could go because I will be getting a few tax returns tomorrow and will have to decide what to do with TRX. Well, I come across a few mistakes, which turned out to be me since this is the first time I have done anything with this program except a minor test earlier. I have not rolled over any returns from Tax Works or tried to E-File yet, but will try these 2 over the weekend and by Monday will find out if they work. I have not done any calculations to see if all figures are correct - will do that too. I did 2 w-2s, 1099R, Interest, Dividends, A, C with 8829, E, 1065 K-1 and various other items. No problem printing. Green button - well mine stays red, wonder if that is good or not! Joane

The reason the box is red on line 42 on schedule is because you did not put in an amount for ending inventory in line 41. I just found this past year that if you do not normally have beginning inventory and an ending inventory that you are not suppose to fill out the cost of goods sold Part III. I had been filling it out for many years and for the life of me I cant remember where I saw this. After I have lunch, I will check a couple of places and let you know. joane

Doug I do not have the software installed and was going to wait until after Christmas. But, when you do the Updates does that include the whole program or just the Updates? Please let me know. Thanks joane

I talked to TRX this a.m and they will be shipping out TRX PRO (Tax Works) Monday the 10th by FedEx. Thats what they call Tax Works -- At first I did not know what software she was talking about -- Tax Pro! Anyway I had signed up before the deadline to get Tax Works Premium at $299. - I sure am glad they have it again this year. I guess you know they have Tax Exact too and will be shipping that on Monday also. Joane

Many years ago I had a Few clients that had non-business bad loans and I used a form called "Statement in Support of Non-Business Bad Debt." and right below it said The following information pertains to the non-business bad debt claimed on schedule "D" as a short term capital loss. (Reference IRC Section 166.) I always used this when there was a bad debt involved. Never had any feedback from IRS. I still have the form but havent needed in quite a while. Thats my 2 cents worth.

I talked to Will in Sales today but I had mention to him about several people where kinda upset seeing they could not get in touch with TRX and some where even thinking about not using them next year. (No names given out) That is when he ask me to have whoever had problems to leave his name and EXT. So I guess he helps where ever. I have already signed up for next year --- I also have not had any trouble with TRX - In fact they have been real helpful. Joane

I also just was talking to TRX it just dawned on me that their number had changed at the beginning of this year. Will with TRX ask me to let people know about the number and also Will ask me to tell everyone that is having any problelms to please call him at the number Mike has above and ask for EXT 3451. KEA You can go to http://support.redgeartech.com and the Knowledge Base will be there. Put in Attach PDF to a Return or 8453. It has 9 pages come up on to do it. I have never attach a PDF to anything and I have one to do. Hope this will do it for you. Joane
