Tax Prep by Deb Posted July 9, 2012 Report Share Posted July 9, 2012 I just received my certificate from IRS for passing the exam. I have already completed my continued education for 2012 and when I log on to my PTIN account it states I have nothing pending to do, however my PTIN is still showing as provisional. Anyone else who has received their certificate noticed this? I thought once I passed the provisional would be removed. However, as you say, the account states that I have nothing pending to do. I have no clue why is is staying provisional, but am also glad to see someone else with the same results. Jack from Ohio Posted July 10, 2012 Report Share Posted July 10, 2012 It takes 4-6 weeks for an amended return to be processed. I would not expect any updates on this item for 3-5 months at least.
