Naveen Mohan from New York Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 I did a individual tax return for a new client who had identity protection pin assigned to him by IRS last year. I copied the same pin number in this year return and I am getting a reject by agency saying IP PIN must match efile data base. How do I resolve this? thanks Naveen Mohan Quote
Lion EA Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 Each year your client will get a new DIFFERENT IP PIN. Enter his latest PIN. 1 Quote

Pacun Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 The client should check his mail. I think the IRS send them in December. If he cannot find the letter, he can call the IRS and they will provide a new one. Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 The identity theft PIN is also shown on the account transcript from the IRS. Quote
