mcb39 Posted December 18, 2024 Report Posted December 18, 2024 (edited) I test my double authentication from time to time and update the program. All of that is working well. However, I have found that Avast will not let me open the ATX program (programs) without shutting it off for a few minutes. This is even after my IT person has instructed Avast to recognize ATX as safe. Is there another name that we need to use such as Walter Kluwer, etc.? Any input is appreciated. I don't like shutting off the virus protection for any reason. Thanks in advance. Edited December 19, 2024 by jklcpa edited title only for more clarity Quote
artp Posted December 18, 2024 Report Posted December 18, 2024 I use Avast that was set up by TECH4 and Drake for my tax software and have no issues. Art Quote
Lee B Posted December 18, 2024 Report Posted December 18, 2024 I haven't used a third party antivirus program for years, since according to tech articles I have read Microsoft does a satisfactory job. 3 Quote
Abby Normal Posted December 18, 2024 Report Posted December 18, 2024 Antivirus exclusions are based on exe filenames, so if you excluded atx.exe for every year you have installed, it should work. But there are other exe files involved in ATX so you might want to exclude those, too. C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Wolters Kluwer\ATX 2023 Server\Sfs.ServerHost.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Wolters Kluwer\ATX2023\Sfs.Max.RolloverService.exe 2 1 Quote
mcb39 Posted December 22, 2024 Author Report Posted December 22, 2024 Thank you for the files. I ran it past my IT person, but he will add the files because he likes Avast for the boot scan. Happy Christmas to all of you. 1 Quote
