Sure does make for some interesting conversation with clients about the advisability of deliberately overpaying and then waiting for a refund. They are facing a big deficit for 6-30 year end, and they have done this in the past. If they do hold them, they will probably be paid July 1, because I believe they have to pay interest after that. Nobody bothered to prepare for a cash shortfall (guess our finance people don't read the newspapers & didn't know tax revenues would decline), so now they're saying tax refunds will be "delayed a little bit". BulldogTom Posted March 7, 2009 Report Share Posted March 7, 2009 Last night I saw on the news the State Controller say that all refunds should be caught up in about 2 to 3 weeks. That is good. I am waiting for my refund in that mess. So now I claim married 12 on my CA withholding. I am thinking about moving it to married 20 to see what happens.
