cpabsd Posted March 2, 2009 Report Share Posted March 2, 2009 A friend has an aquaintance who claims to be exempt from Federal income tax due to being a decendant of a person who is on the official role of an American Indian tribe. Any one out there ever have this come up? Of course, now my friend wants to investigate as her husband has Indian blood. I cannot find any thing listing this as true. Thanks. There are likely things to consider if living on/near and working on a reservation. Pub 8845. Never living on/near a reservation, I have no actual experience with this. RitaB Posted March 2, 2009 Report Share Posted March 2, 2009 Bonnie - I have had two that brought letters saying some particular income was not taxable, but neither brought any documentation regarding the income!
