Both collect SS, husband is one of my GM retirees. The return kept being rejected because of the spouse's SS# and name not matching. michaelmars Posted February 28, 2011 Report Share Posted February 28, 2011 I HAVE a client 89 years old who for the last 3 years has had to file under her maiden name since she never officially changed it 65 years ago. she gets soc sec medicare etc all under her married name. That's because they go to the SS Adminitration counter and they filed their taxes on paper. 65 years ago, today's computers were not born and there was not need to be accurate.
