  1. From holiday greetings to pickles, that's what this season is all about, friends sharing with each other. We'll always have pickles together!

  2. My husband was special ordering Ba Tampte at a supermarket here in Omaha after he discovered them by accident. He did say that the last few were not as good, so he started making him own from recipes that he found online. He pickles everything and everyone else loves them. He does too many fermented ones and I don't like them at all.

  3. Current versions of Remote Desktop and SOS. Note, I was an early customer, so it appears I benefit from older pricing, based on what my next renewal shows to be.

  4. I am so happy that I found a great guy at PPL on Thursday before this happened. I have been trying for over a year to get a deceased client's refund back for her son and they have given him so many hoops to jump through that it was ridiculous. It was a straight forward return with no issues that we could see. We gave them everything that they asked for. When I called again Thursday, it took 45 minutes on hold at various times, but he actually said that the previous people did not do their job. He had it all straightened out and said that if the money does not show up in 12 weeks, that we have to go to the Taxpayer Advocate. I suppose now that it will get shoved on someone's back burner, but I feel better that at least someone tried to help.

  6. The updated numbers are 69,922 employees have been furloughed and 9,946 employees remain at work. The current shutdown plan being used by the IRS remains in effect until midnight Friday, December 28th. I assume that they are madly scrambling trying to figure out what to do next week.

  7. Not a user of their software. If you have not contacted the software vendor for suggestions, do so. They are the experts on their software... All I can offer is a programmer's perspective. Any sort of data input, when the data must remain open for changes in another location, as well as updated with changes on your end, and at any other location, has to be slow. Data collision is the issue (who has the latest, and when, and what to do if more than one tries to change the same piece at the same time). Testing for data collision is slow, as is keeping all possible parties updated in a live manner. Slow is a relative term. Even I can type faster than data can safely be shared, but a two finger typist may not have enough speed to notice the time taken for data updates and security.

  8. I am sure there are free, but not one that I would use, even for a once a year. I prefer paid, since I need it to be reliable, fast, and secure. I use Splashtop to manage my own computer from anywhere (which means I do not have to ever be "at" work), as well as to provide remote support.

  9. Dear FDNY-Seuss, Thanks much. We've got a Sam's but not the other two and our Sam doesn't carry them. Found some online but they're the petite style and I want the old-fashioned big ones, so will keep looking with your correct spelling of the name. By the way, what is Ba Tampte (a food? a religion? other?). If the latter, then Merry B.T. to you.
