  1. Perhaps you can't afford another program, but can your business afford to use TRX?
  2. No...I don't give free estimates. When they ask I say....."I get paid to prepare the return. If I tell you the refund, it means I did the return, and I expect to get paid for my work!" If they don't ask, but then don't want the return I charge a consultation fee....and tell them I'll reduce their fee if they use my services.
  3. Thanks! If by #29 it's not there.....I don't think it will ever be there.
  4. I'm The Queen of value shopping. However, the idea is to buy quality at a good price, not to buy cheap junk. Until this year, I felt that TRX was quality at a good price. Not any more......... Seriously, if I knew any professional I was paying used "an inferior product", I would be changing that professional. At this point I don't care if the TRX software ends up being superlative and they finally get all the states. Nothing was ready on time. This is not "quality at good price". My clients don't need to hear my problems or excuses from me. They expect me to deliver.
  5. I haven't looked at or downloaded TRX for 2 weeks now. The last time I looked, the option to do 1040-NR returns was greyed out. Can anyone tell me if it is now available. (I don't want to bother with it unless I know the 1040-NR is there. I bought Tax Act and will not do anything with the TRX program except for the non-resident returns, if available.) Thanks for looking........... If you are unsure...it's on the page where you can pick 1040....1040-A......1040-EZ
  6. Just filed a complaint with the TN AG! Wondering...should I file my my AG (NY) because this is interstate commerce?
  7. Well, FWIW, someone is at the phone in the sales dept.
  8. LOL........ TaxExact...TaxExact....TaxExact....TaxExact
  9. I know NY was on that list...but when I was still trying, it was not anything even near a complete NY.
  10. Out of curiousity, I tried to call today.....but I couldn't keep the phone tied up for "that long". Did anyone get thru in the last 2 days?
  11. I see them with a C. What kind of "case"? Are you talking about a class action, small claims..what? Although I'm just as annoyed as everyone else (last week I was thinking....maybe the cosmos was telling me to retire) and would love my money back, I really look at this as a cost of doing business (just another deduction on my Schedule C). It's called penny wise and pound foolish...or you get what you pay for. I used them for 4 years. There were issues the first year, but once they got worked out, all was well. No complaints for the next 3. I doubt Doug Hughes and all the Hughes planned this or wanted this. Remember, they are (most likely) going to be the biggest losers here. I was happily saving money on software for 4 years...which added up to more than my "extra cost" for this year.
  12. You're right, it was 118 days, not 90 (I'm getting old). I really just called and spoke to "the man who said hello". I explained that you have to order in advance, when the CD was shipped and when I installed it. I emphasized that I was told it would be Red Gear, that it isn't Red Gear, that the program is useless, and that I had just ordered Tax Act (which charge was already on my account). My credit (like all credits) is just temporary; TRX has 30 days to dispute.
  13. I've been following all the comments on the TRX facebook page. It was there this morning. It seems gone now. I think this is a sign of things to come.
  14. I stopped calling TRX on Friday,1/25. They said they would have Schedule A problems fixed that afternoon, or by Saturday. Saturday came and went, but the update didn't,so I switched to Tax Act. I used Tax Act in the past and was very happy with their software. I can't believe anyone is actually filing with TRX software. Perhaps a single person with no dependents who has "one W-2" in FL. But, anything more complex will probably come back to haunt them. I hate to say this, but only a person truly unknowlegeable about taxes would trust this software.
  15. I put in a complaint with my Chase card on 1/28 and Chase gave me a temporary credit. Generally, they allow 90 days to file a dispute, unless there are circumstances. I told them "the circumstances" (such as when the CD was shipped vs when I paid, which was last May). I also told them the problems, and pointed out that I had purchased Tax Act instead, and that charge was already showing up on my account. Now TRX has 30 days to dispute my claim . I know from my husband's business, when someone files a dispute against us, our bank account is debited immediately. I'm hoping they are so overwhelmed that they won't even notice the debit, or open the letter from Chase about the dispute.
