  6. Another reason to just do 1040s. I stopped doing 1040EZs when I realized I had some clients who were entitled to the retirement savings contribution credit. taxbilly
  7. I've made bigger ones myself over the years. I picked up one clients gross wages as $72,000 when it fact it was $92,000. Those were the days of carbon copy W-2s. The IRS tried to impose an underpayment penalty which I succeeded in abating and I paid the interest on the debt. taxbilly
  8. Have a Sch C author who receives royalties from a book he wrote. He has a 1099-MISC with the amount in box 2. Does this income go on line 1 or 6 of Sch C? Thanx, taxbilly

  16. Eli: This is a hard one to answer because of all the variables. You would also want a covenant not to compete in place. I'm sure there are folks here who have bought and sold businesses that can give some insight. taxbilly
