I doubt that the payroll service or nursing agency is non-profit, but I'm sure that the hospital is. It would be nice if they would at least tell you the taxable amount for another state, since there is per diem and lots of deductions involved.

It's Nebraska and Wisconsin. He worked about half a year in each state, but no Nebraska withholding. They withheld Wisconsin for the whole year. Nebraska is his home state. He argued with them, but they told him that it wasn't their problem.

My client worked in two states in 2012. He is a traveling nurse that works for a company that outsources it's payroll. The two states are shown on the W-2 , but the state wages for each state is the same as the federal. There is only one state with any withholding. I'm assuming that I have to get his checkstubs and add them since this company is not preparing payroll correctly. I'm only asking in case someone knows how this W2 could possibly be correct. Try updating the program. As soon as they opened e-file for prior MEF returns, it allowed me to created the efile and it was accepted with a 2013 signature date.

I was getting very few forms until I logged in as Admin and then hundreds were downloaded.

The 2011 that I sent was rejected yesterday, but today it was accepted with a 2013 signature date.

I have not had any problems since updating to 12.5.Rollover is fast, calculating is fast and opening is pretty decent. I have not printed anything, because I want to watch some videos and read the manual a bit. I haven't decided what to do about client letters, since I really don't want to start from scratch and don't have the extra time to cut and paste. I found out that I have to log in as Admin to do most anything. I'm not really sure why that is, because I made the user name an admin, but I'm not going to mess around with it now. I have a stand alone Windows Pro 64 bit with 12 mg RAM and run AVG antivirus and malwarebytes.

Jack, Do you know if I change to a flash drive in the backup window, will it revert back to the default the next time or just do all of the backups to the flash drive? It was so easy before that even I could figure it out. Thank you.

Thank you for your help. I just found it after telling explorer to show hidden files. I have it set to back up now to my hard drive.

I can't see the backup folder from Windows explorer or from using search. I manually backed up three returns and it appeared to do it. I am afraid to change the default directory under preferences. I just wanted to be able to get additional backups somewhere. Thanks.

I control the encryption key, and back up to external hard drives and flash drives myself. Since I work at home on one computer, I don't like having everything in one place. I know that I can put them in a safe deposit box, but I rarely leave the house when the bank is open. I still can't find the backup folder for 2012 so that I can back up to my external drives and flash drives. North Idaho Rich. Did you change your backup folder? I have a C:Prgram Files(x86)ATX2012 but no backup folder. Maybe this is why my program works, it isn't backup up anything. I guess I will have to call tech support and ask where it is.

I can't even find my backup folder. I have a standalone Windows Pro 7 64 . I saw a post on the other website that Carbonite will not back up ATX 2012 because it is some hidden folder. I can't even find it to back up to my flash drive or external hard drive. Has anyone tried this yet? I saw that ATX told someone that they can't held them with an outside backup, but for $29 per month will be glad to help them with their vendor. Thanks.

Go to the boxes on the 1040 and the ef-form and hit restore in the boxes. Sometimes something strange will get in there and you can't see it. This has happened to me in past years.

I had the same problem with the ATX website. You may need to call tech support. The website doesn't especially like anything but IE. They finally had to change my user name, because no matter what support did, my old user name would not work. Maybe if you change your user name to something else, it will work.

I have no idea where they could have gone. What if you go to the Windows search box and put in the client's name? It will give you a bunch of stuff, but you might be able to track where the files went.

Are you going into the Payroll program W-2 folder? I was going to CCH Small Business Atx 2012 and then I remembered that it was a separate program. I have created several and sent them after running them through Accuwage.

I was just told on the other website that the IRS has now changed the opening date for all efiles to 1/3012. I haven't seen that myself. The last update that I saw said that it would be today. Now I'm getting worried that they won't be ready for anything on 1/30.

You may efile 1040's for two prior years now.

I'm asking this again, because I don't have much hope that ATX will answer my emailed question very quickly. Has anyone been able to successfully efile a 2011 return? I thought that today was the day to begin efiling them again. I am getting the same error message, that "the taxpayer signature date must be the same as the current processing year". I can't change the year to 2012, because the 8879 is signed today. Thanks.

I haven't heard from anyone that has their info. They have called for appointments in February and March.

That is the date I used that is causing the error. I hope it's not an error, because I don't want to have to paper file.
