  1. No kidding! The sad part most of all, is that it's only the beginning of winter. Wait until mid Late February - Mid March, it gets -40 to -70 at some points with the wind chill. It gets so cold they broadcast warnings not to go outside. Just by stepping outside you could get instant frost bite on your nose, fingers, etc. http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?C...67.9906&e=0
  2. I've got you ALL beat! It's -13 with the wind chill in Caribou, ME right now and we're looking to get -24 into tonight! Not to mention our Winter Storm Warning for the weekend. We're looking to get another BIG storm plastering the North East. I'd trade spots with most any of you any day.
  3. At one time ATX had the highest renewal rate in the industry leading with 92% - unheard of anywhere else in the tax software world. Not sure of the statistics now, but I'm sure you'll be fine. If not, you can always rely on the good fellows of this board!
  4. I agree with Eric and opt to use other browsers besides IE - I just don't like it. FireFox has so much more to offer and is less intrusive. Thanks for the heads up George - I'll just have to mess around with it and figure out why I can't get the sound.
  5. I am using FireFox and I'm having trouble with the sound working when trying to watch ATX TV. Has anyone experienced that? I'm just wondering if it's a necessity to be using IE7, or if I need to be looking at something else?
  6. Mike - From experience working with the ATX Total Satisfaction Team, I can offer some advice. Lion was on the right track, but I would like to add my thoughts. You would use the export feature from your old program/computer. The easiest way would be to export onto a flash drive. If you do not have one, you can pick a 4GB flash from Staples for about $12-$15. So, you would export to that then take it over to your new program/computer. By using the import feature, you would bring the files over and it should work smoothly. Now, if you wanted to export them to a CD, you would need to do a couple extra steps. First off, create a folder on the desktop of your old computer. Name it whatever you want. Using the export feature, export them to that folder. Burn that whole folder to the CD. Next, go over to your new computer and move the folder onto the desktop. Open your ATX program and use the import feature to import the files from that folder. Both ways will work just fine, but using a CD just takes a little more time. If you should come into any trouble, let me know and I'll see what I can find out for you. Thanks Mike.
  7. As Eric has said, we now have a new forum for VMSUS related material. I have posted a topic on our CONTEST we are running at this time where you could win up to $500 off your order! Find that post by clicking [ here ]! If you would like to go directly to our new forum, click [ here ]! Thanks to all who have called in/signed up thus far.
  8. Margaret - I understand where you are coming from and this will be the last pinned topic from me.
  9. That's a great suggestion too Zeke. Maybe I'll see if Eric can create a "VMSUS Offer" topic discussion of some sorts. That way I will not be posting in the General Chit Chat. Until then, I will start using "NT" as part of my Title so that everyone knows. Though, I will definitely add my 2 cents in any discussion that I have any insight to. Thanks guys and I really do appreciate all that's being suggested. Hope you all are having a great day!
  10. TAXBILLY - That didn't even occur to me when I was posting, but it's a great idea. Thank you for suggesting that and I will do that from now on.
  11. Okay, first of all, I would like to say "GOOD MORNING TO EVERYONE!" The offer I threw out on the table yesterday peaked some interest, but I want all of you to know just how serious we are about being able to help you this tax season. And not only being able to, but really wanting to. Now it's time for a new offer! This one is better and more enticing - Drum Roll Please: Starting Tuesday 12/16, until offer has been fulfilled, we will be offering up to $500 off any support package. How this will work is once I get a sale that originates from this message board I will enter your name into a drawing. After I have gotten 10 sales, I will draw one name. The person whose name I draw will receive a call from me, which I feel is a gift in itself, but I will also refund up to $500 off the original order So in other words, if you're package was only $199 - that's what I'll refund. If your order was $1,000 - you get half off your order. I cannot refund more than what you paid, and no less than what I'm offering. There it is. No joke. I'm here and waiting to give this away. I'm excited to hear from all of you and I will keep you updated on how this is going through out the week until name is drawn.
  12. Just a side note for everyone - If anyone should get the "Blue Screen of Death" after installing the new 2008 program - Let me know. We are willing to investigate further and find out if this was a once in a blue moon type of thing, or if this is a commonality with the new program. Has anyone else experienced anything of this nature after they installed? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  13. TaxTrio - I'll pass that info along to Guy about you not getting the "Blue Screen of Death" anymore, but I'll keep him researching anyway . I actually spoke with him yesterday afternoon about you to find out how the 2 of you made out and make sure that you had been taken care of. I didn't want to just forget about you, like other companies do. Once you become my customer, you will always be under my wing and if you should need anything extra do not hesitate to email/call me with a heads up of what you want. I'll help you out any way I can. I do want to apologize to you for being bounced around and told "it's not our problem." I understand I could not have prevented it, but I want you to know we will never do that to you, or anyone for that matter. Let it be known, no one will ever hear those words from Virtual Managed Solutions. We want to be your one-stop company for all and everything computer related.
  14. KC, thanks so much - but don't hold it against me if I don't relay this message to Kerry. It'll go right to his head!
  15. Actually KC, I lied and I'm so sorry! I was not wearing glasses at the time. Thank God for contacts! I am the 3rd back from William in the orange with short dark hair. Right behind the girl in the black jacket. Thanks so much for the picture. Brings back a lot of memories!
  16. Brian Levy and Janitor Bob are a couple more names I remember from the "old" ATX days! How have you guys been anyway? It's been a loooong time..
  17. TaxTrio - Just checking up on you. I know you've been talking with Guy and he's informed me of what he has been working on with you. If you should need any other assistance, just let me know. I am here.
  18. Don't believe a word he says. C'mon now, with a handle like "Monkeyman," one has to know I'm cooler! :ninja:
  19. Bulldog - I have told Kerry about uploading some pics! His scanner is down for the count, but we're trying to find one for him. At this time, we don't charge by the hour or job. What we like to do is set you up for the whole year. So if you think about it, 1 computer for the entire year is only $199. That's less than $4 a week when you break it down. Think of it as paying insurance on your car. You hate paying for it, but when you need it you're glad you have it! Now, this support would be unlimited and during the tax season we'd be available 24/7. If you'd like, give me a call and I could discuss this further with you.
  20. Actually, I'm not the only "original" we have on staff. There are at least 3 of us that I can see that were in that picture and at least 2 more that did not make it in that photo. So, as you can see, we've been here for you since the beginning and we will continue to be. We appreciate all you have done! P.S. If the need ever arises to send more bbq - the address has not changed :scratch_head:
  21. I understand that KC and I appreciate the heads up. Although, right now, Kerry is involved with another venture the company is doing and is no longer doing sales. I am the only person in the sales department at this point, but I will let him know what you said though, as he does sit to my right within poking distance. In that picture I cannot really recall exactly where I was standing, but I do remember I was wearing an orange shirt with long sleeves and wearing glasses. Unfortunately, I've lost the picture over the years, but I WOULD LOVE to have another copy. Is there anyway you could email me it to me? My email address is listed in my signature and I'm positive the other guys would love to see it as well! When I do get it from you, I'll respond with where I am in it. I know it's been YEARS since you did that for us, but I do want to thank you once again. That was the best bar-b-que I've ever had, and to this date, still have ever had!
  22. Definitely KC! Anytime! I must admit, you were the first name I recognized. When are you going to send us that famous bar-b-que again? I remember that day like it was yesterday! Thanks for pinning this topic as well. I was going to ask Eric to do it, but you beat me to the punch. Thanks again!
  23. Lion, I can do that! If you want, you could send me a message with any questions you might have and I could talk with you on how we work and what's involved. Or if you want, you can call me. My info is on my signature. I'd be more than willing to help you with anything you might need. Thanks again for giving me the opportunity to pick on Kerry!
  24. Unfortunately, William is not currently with us. He and another fellow ATXer went off and created their own Publishing Company. They are publishing children's stories and other works from authors around the area. You are the 2nd person this week that has asked me about him - I do see him around occasionally, so when I do, I'll let him know everyone is wondering where he went. Thanks Elrod.
