EXPERIAN CREDIT FREEZE PINS

Recommended Posts

Yesterday and for an unknown number of days prior to that, the pins required to un thaw a credit freeze on Experian's website

were being revealed by answering "none of the above" to all of the authentication questions.

Experian says you should unfreeze and then create an new credit freeze which will create an new pin.

Here is a link for more details:

I have been dealing with this for some time now. The pain goes a little further south of the lower back area and usually resides chronically in the same area I sit.

We are in the process of moving and had to unfreeze our credit accounts to get a line of credit. Will be glad when it is all complete and I can lock it up again.

I have serious doubts any criminals will take the time to unfreeze an account and not just move onto another on their list.

Why wouldn't they?  They probably already have you name, address, SSN , DOB and Drivers License info from the Equifax hack last year ! 😡

They absolutely do.  I have had problem after problem with my major credit cards, store credit cards, and people submitting applications for credit in my name, SSN, etc., with an address in Florida.  It has been the 'account security question' and companies phoning my land line number (yes, I still have one) that has saved me so far.  Eeegads.

Because they have thousands of people with all that information? Why spend 30 minutes trying to unlock one particular name instead of just moving onto the next name which probably has all three credit accounts unfrozen?
