ILLMAS
Can one cancel an e-file that was accepted 2 days ago? A client forgot to bring additional information, I was wondering if it can be done, or I would just need to amend the return. Thanks
michaelmars
amend - wait a few weeks too so the returns don't cross in the irs system
AnnieR
No, gotta amend, and the form's not ready. That's experience speaking AnnieR
ILLMAS
Ok, thanks I will give it some time before I amend the return.
Eli
and the form's not ready. AnnieR Why is the form (1040X) not ready yet? Some one brought me an amended return done at another tax office. So is the form not ready just here with ATX or is it an IRS issue?? Just curious. Kea
I was able to amend in TRX Taxwise. So, I guess it's ATX. Good luck.

Catherine
Wow, that cannot be a good sign. Gee, I thought it was standard practice with ATX. Every form you might ever need -- eventually. But don't hold your breath. Catherine
kcjenkins
Well, frankly, it seems to me that is a non-issue., because you can already create it, you just can't file the return yet because it's in draft form. But you should not be sending in a 2008 amendment yet anyway. It's not going to get processed yet, but it could slow things down if it gets there before they finish processing the original return, which takes, in my understanding, a couple more weeks after the client gets his refund. I NEVER file one until after the client gets his refund, or a full 6 weeks on a balance due return, because it's going to only screw up the system if they are not done in proper order.
