  1. The system still give the mother a free pass for almost everything, and fights the father at every turn. I have lived it. Facts and evidence do NOT make any difference.

  2. When my wife divorced her first husband, she did everything she could to keep a good relationship between her children and their father. She went way beyond what most women would. I am really proud of her.

  3. And we can safely KNOW that she is a pompous, self-righteous, lying, heartless ASS!

  4. That is probably a wise choice. Still, you learned how to do it if you need to. If you do find yourself needing the space on your HD, back up the database files to disk or flash drive, then delete those files, but not the program. That way, you still have the program when you need it.

  5. Thank you again to everyone. I found the files and the option to delete/uninstall but reading the new posts, I have decided not to delete them. May God bless this forum and its members. Lucho

  6. It is not only the IRS. All of society give the mother the pass, and beats up the father. I took verbal and social abuse from 95% of the people I knew. This went on till my son was about 22. He discovered, figured it out, and started announcing what he found and knew to the world. By then, my youngest was a sophomore in college (I was helping, their mother did not) so most of what I endured could not be changed or repaired. However, the best part is that all three kids saw, discovered and now I have a wonderful relationship with all three. I do NOT regret anything I spent to provide and take care of my kids. I am just a bit bitter that their mother did not help more than $1,000 toward college for all three kids.

  8. We are keeping a Windows XP computer in the network with 00, 01, 02, 03 & 04 programs on it. 00-03 are not compatible with WIN7 at all. 04 is a bit flaky on WIN7. We seem to regularly have clients with 10-12 years of unfiled returns that need prepared because the IRS finally found them. That is all the old machine will be used for.

  9. Never know, I've had a new client walk in who had not filed for 11 years, and since he was self-employed, I really did need to do them all. Thanks be, he actually had decent records. I never really knew why he did not file, except that he had losses for the first years, and did not figure he needed to file when he would not owe or get a refund. By doing them all, we established his basis, depreciation, etc. He was a great client from then on, and the fees for those returns, and dealing with the IRS for him, sure was nice too.

  10. Isn't that the important part? One family I know, the ex tried for years to turn the screws on dad in every way possible -- through the courts, financially, and by poisoning their daughter against him - as well as keeping the daughter physically away by every subterfuge known to mankind and a few designed specially for her by Hades. Looked for years like it was working, too -- then the daughter got out on her own (post-college), and saw what had *really* been going on with her own eyes (no longer through mom's filter). Dumped mom-the-bi+ch like a hot potato, apologized to dad for ever believing one word -- and ever since has had a fantastic relationship with dad, and coldly tolerates mom on very rare occasion only.

  11. Some people cannot see the truth as it stares them in the face. The customer was charged for the meal plus tip. End of controversy. The server is a heartless self-serving jerk. PERIOD.

  12. I live in Tennessee, and my clients would not read a letter if I sent one. Or worse, they would call me to ask what it said. And I betcha they are about average. If a return stays the same year after year, I charge the same fee for about three years, then go up about 10%. More if good ole PITA is in play. I don't announce it, or even comment about it at all. Ain't nobody got time for that. I don't gouge, and they know I don't. Nobody announces fee increases to me, they just happen. Happy Thanksgiving!
