  1. I doubt that means it won't run on 7, but... Here are the requirements. You can download 8.1 for free here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8ISO

  2. All of these "support" tools are a security risk. The last time I bought a Dell (90s), I formatted the drive and reinstalled windows. I have an IT guy. I don't need or want Dell support.

  3. I think Dell support assist is a useful tool, just like any other software that supports our computers. The secret is to erase all the crooks out there in the net, but with that impossibility.... Simply have all programs updated to the latest version, Weather it is adobe flash player, the browser we use, or even our operating system. It is a sad shame that something as useful as computers and internet IS, that a bunch of sorry #"@)*^> horse's bums ruin it for all.

  4. This fall I need to buy a new desktop. And, hubby is probably buying a new desktop sooner. (I was going to do that last fall, but got a new hip instead.)

  5. Mr. Lee's message tells the story of why we can't get rid of complications and cryptic deductions/credits in the tax code. There are too many vested interests competing with each other to accomplish true tax simplification. To amplify their case, some of them attach to the heart strings of people who follow the six o' clock news (like the coal mine disaster mentioned), when much of the tax benefit has already been used up. It matters not to congress that we as practitioners are in the cross-hairs of the complications. Perhaps we need to become yet another "vested interest."
