  1. I did not see such a thing on the forms. Have to admit, I have not dealt very much with OK returns. Hoping for more experienced users to chime in.
  2. 20 year old student. Parent's home and domicile are Ohio. Going to college in OK. Earned $9K When I complete the OK NR form, it seems to make no difference in the amount of OK tax at all? Am I missing a step or information? Is that just how it is? He has no OH tax because his income is below the $10K threshold.
  3. If you are using ATX, go to the MYATX website, choose e-file tab, then choose e-file status. Enter the SS# and a table will show all acknowledgments. To the right there will be a link marked "rehang" click once on each ack you need, wait about 10 minutes and receive acks in the program. They should flow in and populate the 9325 like you want.
  4. If this was a new return, and had not been closed or saved at least once, the autosave will not function. When you create a new return, after inputting demographic info, perform a save. Autosave will then work. This is a complete change from prior years where it would autosave an incomplete return.

  6. Just check e-Bay for an idea of value. Essentially FMV = $0
  7. So there will be an update update??
  8. Not deductible as medical. The person giving those answers should offer to represent those that follow his guidance at audit. No way I would take such an aggressive position. Besides, how much expense could there be?
  9. Just what we need on the last week of March!!! I WILL BE IN CONTACT WITH THEM VIA EMAIL!!
  10. Just what we need on the last week of March.... We have removed the ATX tax and FAM 13.5 updates while we investigate an issue related to opening returns that were marked complete in 2012 and rolled over into 2013. Our Development Team is working diligently on a resolution, and we will release more information as soon as it is available. If you have returns that will not open after installing 13.5, please take no action on those returns until we post a resolution. Thank you for your patience. Posted by Stephanie Bradford at 2:46PM
  11. Less than a .1% chance of it even being looked at, much less challenged. This is reality.
  12. I will modify my instructions above. I sent an e-mail and Tech support called me. (I must have someone's ear) Identified the problem and some possible changes to prevent the retry problem in the future.
  13. I have co-workers that ignore my instructions consistently. Had everyone followed my instructions this morning, there would have been no issues. Just thought I would help prevent problems for others. I have given all those that did not follow my instructions "THE LOOK" (as if it will make any difference) and now I feel much better. When the next update comes along I will play the same game, only this time I will run around and shut down the computers of those that don't comply.
  14. Here are my experiences. If you have a standalone, just go ahead and install the update. You will have to click retry MANY times to accomplish the update and opening the program the first time after. With a network: ABSOLUTELY update the server machine first and make sure all computers have the ATX2013 program shut OFF. If a server only machine, download the update from the site and run it. If you have a server w/workstation, do the update through the program. Be ready to click retry many times. Wait for at least 5 minutes before updating the program on any workstation. The server will perform a total program backup and this will cause any workstations to receive multiple "server retry" errors till the backup is complete. Update workstations one at a time. When the update is done on a workstation, close the program. Wait for at least 5 minutes before updating the program on another workstation. The server will perform a total program backup and this will cause any workstations to receive multiple "server retry" errors till the backup is complete. Update each workstation following steps 5 & 6 till all have been done. Once all the updates are installed, program should open and work as normal. Updated by Jack at 12:10 EDT. per my post below.
  15. I may have an answer shortly. Making progress here!!
  16. Just click cancel on the update. More information shortly...
  17. Update is not installing properly!! I will post again as soon as I have an answer. Till then, I recommend not installing....
  18. I think I warned everyone about WIN 8 months ago......
  19. Including all college costs? $13K before taxes? In CA? SHE has to have provided more than half. I live in a rural Midwest town and it can't be done here on that little income. "$8,000 refundable credit" would not be considered provided by her. A single person with no child is not eligible for that amount anyway. What part of CA has cost of living that low? Not convinced....
  20. So Lacerte is transmitting the form to the FinCEN site for you. NOT to the IRS.
  21. Tell me how a college student provides more than 50% of her livelihood earning $13,000 in a year? I am truly interested in the math on this one. Even if she is not claimed by parents, she is only eligible for the non-refundable portion of the AOC. Overthinking on this one, big time!!!
  22. Parents claim her as a dependent and claim American Opportunity Credit. She files and does not claim herself. Requirement for AOC is "at least a half time student." Daughter cannot claim herself and is not eligible for education credits.
  23. Check your messages. There are specific "DO" and "DON'T" items that can cause you misery.
