  1. I do pay my bank fees and far too many for the privilege of them using my money while in transit. In my county, writing a bad check over $300 is a 4th class felony, prosecutable by the County DA. When I worked for a major tire company retail store, we used this many times to "motivate" people to make good on the bad paper they wrote. Under $300 is a misdemeanor but still prosecutable by the D.A. I do not pay bank fees for someone commiting a crime.
  2. First time I charge what the bank charges me plus $5. Second time, plus $15. There is no third time. Cash only after that. Fee increase of $20 built in after the second one. Mistakes do happen. Two times is not a mistake.
  3. That is a BEAUTIFUL picture of a BEAUTIFUL family!! The picture is priceless!!
  4. You have my deepest heartfelt condolences for your loss. Prayers will continue to go up for you and your family!
  5. The church needs to get the governing body and the treasurer some training and education to how church taxes and ministerial payroll is properly handled. The things you mention indicate gaps in the knowledge needed to do it correctly.
  6. My youngest of 3 graduated in may 2010. Oldest went 5 years, second went 2 years, third went 4 years. I chose to pay 1/2 of the amount above scholarships. Imagine what I am still paying off..... Oldest and youngest went to Huntington University in Indiana. Middle went to DeVry. I feel your pain.
  7. My son is a software engineer. He has three. One vertical in the center. You can see an entire webpage, or in our business, the entire tax form in a size you can read. Windows will easily change the image. The trick is that some monitors aren't designed to sit vertical, so some engineering is required.
  8. No mention of a demo disk, and I bought back in late April, so my price was the same as last year.
  9. Be sure to turn one vertical for wiewing the whole page...
  10. I have sent that complaint at least 5 times this year, and speak it every time I am on with a tech person. Hoping that the sessions.. "...may be recorded for training or increased customer service..." and then actually listened to. I am not holding my breath, but I am on the same page with you Michael.
  11. You just need a video card that supports multiples. Most laptops will support the screen and one monitor. Newer midline or higher desktops will have two video connections. A different video card with enough connections for however many monitors you want can be added to almost all desktops. Windows XP and Windows 7 will detect the number of monitors connected and allow you to configure them as you want.
  12. Is anyone else interested in going? Any members in Atlanta?
  13. Just sent 3 corporate and 4 personal. Seems to be working. I will check for acks in about an hour.
  14. I will be at the firm in about an hour. I will post the status there. We have a couple to file as well.
  15. Are you kidding?? CCH has NO ONE working on the weekends. Not even the weekend of the deadline. When CCH bought ATX, customer service went deep in the sewers and shows no signs of changing. Therefore, nothing can be posted on the MyATX site till tomorrow morning. Good look. That is definitely a problem with their server.
  16. Are you talking about the same IRS I deal with?? You have a very active imagination!!!!! Translation - "Don't hold your breath about them keeping that information on file."
  17. I thought the price of FREE and it DOES WORK WELL was even better.....
  18. Is anyone planning to attend the Forum that I just received an email about? December 8, in Kennesaw (suburb of Atlanta) GA? Looking for possible sharing of expenses. Let me know.
  19. If you are using Windows XP, the pdf factory is on the 2004 ATX CD. Look on the CD and run pdfinstall.exe. If you are using Windows7, then this works very well and is free!! http://www.dopdf.com/
  20. I was not going to say it, but..... I TOLD YOU SO!!! I'll bet you now know that you could have passed it without the training course!!!
  21. Some numbers from the IRS about testing, for those waiting to take the test: Number of PTINs................................................................450,000 Tests taken as of August 2012.........................................100,000 People needing to test before December 31, 2013......350,000 Limited number of testing facilities that test for thousands of other certifications. You do the math. Stop waiting! If you wait till July, you may not get a testing date. IRS is already saying that December 31, 2013 will NOT be extended. (I will politely disagree, only time will tell) GET GOING AND TAKE THE TEST!!!!
  22. Are you going to Beavercreek Ohio to take the test? Relax! If you brushed up on Circ 230 a bit, you will do fine. TIP: When a question seems really mundane, ambiguous or silly, IT IS!! Don't overthink those. You have all the knowledge you need. Just show the IRS that fact. FYI, I have taken the three E.A. tests. Passed 2 and working on the third. The RTRP test is a CAKEWALK!!!! You can do this!!
  23. You are kidding me, right?? Ping! The magic revealer...
  24. Explain how that is not a different program, with different abilities that the website? Have all the pages on E-Services changed too? E-Services accesses an entirely different set of databases and information. Not on the same server, or the same platform. Check the URL if you doubt....
  25. Simple answer... No.
