    Done!

Hay Catherine, Have you every been to the rifle matches up here at Camp Perry Ohio?
  2. I strive for $150 / hr. And adjust it for varying circumstances as addressed above.
  3. Thank you all. Need much stronger glasses to be able to read the worksheet instructions. I think I'll try to magnify it with my printer. Thanks again. Terry
  4. Kinder Morgan Energy Partners L.P. is a Publicly Traded Partnership that reorganized in 2014 which translates to a sale for owners of which I'm one. In their K-1 packet of info is a "2014 Sales Worksheet" for Federal and State Tax returns. It shows "adjustments to Tax Basis" of -26,093 ; "Ordinary Gain/Loss" of 19,853 gain; "AMT adj" of -1,603. On my Scottrade brokerage statement in the 1099-B section it shows a gain of 19,068.64. This seems to me to be a duplication of tax info. Does anyone know how to handle this on the Federal Income Tax Return?

Catherine, Thanks for that info.......I sometimes think about going back to ATX. But I almost had a stroke with all the problems in 2012. Terry

    Form 1041 Trust

Catherine, Sure, glad to help. 1. Assets / Sale tab; 2. D2; 3. Part III Beneficiaries boxes. I'm still not liking "Data Entry". I couldn't find this. I think that Drake's 1041 needs to be made better,

    Form 1041 Trust

Thanks. After 4 phone calls to Drake, I found Bridgette (sp?) who solved my problem.

    Form 1041 Trust

I'm doing a 1041 for a Trust and want to use the K-1. The Sch G - Tax Computation is calculating the tax on taxable income-how do I turn that off?
  9. What's the best strategy for someone paying more then the $ 2,500 max in student loan interest per year? My thoughts : just pay up to the 2,500 / year in hopes that Obama forgives the SLI. There doesn't seem to be any way to bank the excess over the 2,500.
  10. My feeling is: I feel that the number of tax returns I/my firm prepares this year is going to be down substantially for this year from years past. At this time, I haven't done the statistics, its just a feeling. I don't believe I've become that much more efficient. Terry
  11. We have been using the SSA's web site to E-file and print off employees'/employers' (our business accounts) paper copies of their W-2's. We have 6-8 different W-2 envelopes from over many years-none of which work for the W-2's printed off the SSA's web site. Do any of you know for certain which W-2 envelope and where to get said envelope ?
  12. That's the way the older ATX versions worked but ATX changed it in 2012. I had called ATX when I was a user and the is a way to do it but I forgot.
  13. Thank you for the responses, but I'm talking about a W-2 that was entered into the 1040 program-client's call and need one for the bank or whatever and I'm too lazy to pull their file to copy the original that I retain. In the past 2011 you could easily print it in the software.
  14. I switched to Drake in 2013 (and I'm very glad I did). How do I print a copy of a W-2 from 2012 ATX? Terry
  15. Eric, FYI I had been trying to use my Discover card and it would NOT work. Today I tried my MasterCard and it did work. Terry
  16. I've tried to make a donation to Eric for the maintenance of this great site by using my Discover credit card but it continues to be rejected by this site. Do you have to use Pay Pal (which I do not have) ? Or mail a check? Terry
  17. Thanks Jack. Terry, Also from Ohio. Port Clinton
  18. Thank you jkl. It's normally to the spouse whos SSN is not listed.
  19. I received 3 or 4 CP2000 notices regarding MFS Sch A splits. What have you found to be effective in preventing these CP2000 time wasters? It's always the mortg. int. Terry
  20. The EIC should NOT be part of a tax return. The EIC should have been a function of welfare agencies.
  21. Years ago I came up with the idea of collecting a check for my services when the clients came in to sign & pickup. I allowed them to postdate their check until their refunds got to their banks. This has helped trememdously
  22. I totally agree with Tom. Best wishes to you all. Terry
  23. I'm hoping, and it looks very possible, that I'll be out- of- Dodge by 4:00pm. Taking tomorrow off. Extensions: 30 1040; 2 1120 ; 2 1120S ; 2 1065 Thursday to start the 1st QTR payroll tax returns.
