  1. All the procrastinators seem to have seen the light this year... I recently bought a really good book on "how to stop procrastinating". (I want to read it as soon as I get around to it)
  2. last night in the middle of my slumber I thought of a possible side affect of "lowering my overhead". If I have to walk around the office stooped over.... I am afraid I would walk like that on the golf course too. (but then again, .......... maybe I could "keep my head down". HHmmmmm!!! :scratch_head:
  3. do what JRS says and then click on the "Farm" tab at the top and all the returns with Schedule F will pop to the top of the list and you won't have to scroll down thru the whole list of returns to find the ones with "F".
  4. Ok, back to the original question. .... The employer has the right to limit the amount of overtime an emplyee works. If that limit is 42 hours... .why does the time clock show 50? All I am saying that the employer has to pay the actual hours the employee works, even though he was supposed to only work 42. IMHO!
  5. agreed..... hey, you never know when ya might need some of this knowledge. lol
  6. Who determines how many hours the employee works?? Boss or employee?? I dont see any other way out of paying the actual hours the employee works. (what the time clock says)
  7. I would say the employer has to pay what the time card shows. Not what they might have "agreed" upon or what the employer wants to pay. If he wants to only pay 42 hours, then the employee must only work 42 hours.
  8. Take a deep breath!!! After a good night's sleep, thinks will make perfect sense to you.
  9. how is the employee going to receive the credit from the employer?
  10. My thinking is that the "reduction in Fed withholding rates" is a reflection of the "make work pay" credit. (clear as mud... I know)
  11. are you sure that wasn't a "lagoon"??? lol
  12. JB, That is exactly how I understand it. Tax rates etc will not be changed but you will have a separate $400 credit in 1040/A/EZ to reflect the credit. I agree with Montana... lets not make it more complicated than it really is.
  13. In other words, the tax rates have not been changed and TP will have the same taxable income with the same tax as this year. But he will get a $400.00 credit off his taxes. Therefore the $396.00 less withholding will not lower his refund. He will actually get a $4.00 bigger refund in this scenario.
  14. With the ever increasing overhead costs for my business, I have consulted with a local contractor about lowering my ceiling. If I bend over when I stand, I could lower it at least four feet. This would still be sufficient for sitting at my desk, which is what I do 95% of the time I am in the office. I wanted a bit of advice from others who have possibly had this procedure done in the past, before I go ahead and schedule the contractor. Did it actually lower your overhead costs?? How did your clientele respond to it?? Any other advice would be appreciated on the matter. Thank you in advance.
  15. The knowledge you can gain from this forum is priceless!!!!!
  16. 1. Form 1040 (fee) 40.00 2. State Return (fee) 5.00 3. Form 1040 (Schedule A) (fee) 15.00 4. Form 1040 (Schedule F) (fee) 50.00 5. Other forms... priceless
  17. I am trying to submit my W2s electronically thru BSO. When it asks for the file that I want to transmit, there are 3 different W2 files for the company I am trying to transmit. One ends with 'W2.ASC'. The second is a Zip file that ends with 'W2.Zip'. The third one ends with W2_OH.ASC which I am assuming is the file that gets transmitted to the state. My question is.... which W2 file do I select as the one to transmit via BSO? I am on hold at ATX and am unable to get someone on the phone to speak with. I thought perhaps someone here has a quick answer for me. Then.... what is the procedure to transmit the W2s to the state? If anyone knows off hand, that would be great. If not, I will find my way through it somehow. Thank you in advance for any assistance!!
  18. yeah... I just wonder if everything came out all right...... hhmmm.
  19. so did the pain move any lower than chest - arms??
  20. Ok.... Now I have a question too. If a farmer has no tax on federal... but has a balance due to the state, Is the state due by Mar 1st or April 15th?
  21. "hmmmm..I wonder if my boot will fit up her butt, ...only if she removes her head first! " I wouldn't let her remove her head and still insert boot!! Maybe she'd see the light!! (anyone else starting to get stressed out already?) (or is that a different thread?)
