Program Update 12.2 -- Delayed

We found a defect late yesterday that will most likely require the Program Update 12.2 to be built again. This will delay the our anticipated 10 AM delivery. As we gather more information throughout the day, we will keep you updated on the new delivery date. We do not anticipate a long delay, but we need to allow our development staff to evaluate the defect to determine the next steps.

'By the way, the Founder's Quote today seemed especially appropriate in today's world:

"It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood; if they be repealed or revised before they are promulgated, or undergo such incessant changes that no man who knows what the law is today can guess what it will be to-morrow." --James Madison, Federalist No. 62, 1788

10:30 AM Update

We have identified the issue and it is isolated to the installation packaging. This means that we will not have to rebuild the update itself, just the installation piece of it. We are in the process of doing this and testing the installation change that was made. Our goal is to post the 12.2 update before 3 PM EST. I will keep you updated.

Looks like we may still get it today!

Sure would be nice if there were any evidence that anyone in Washington had any respect for anything the Founding Fathers said on this or any other subject. Unfortunately, what we see in most politicians today goes beyond disregard - it appears to be outright hostility to those principles.

Here is an ubdate to our update:

Program Update 12.2 -- Delayed (updated 1:30 PM EST)

1:30 PM Update

We are still in the processing of testing the changes we made to the installation packaging. In order to allow for ample testing time on network environments, we will be posting the update on Friday morning. The update will contain performance optimizations for Opening rolled over returns, running e-file check, and running diagnostics.

It is also a tool of tyrants to pass voluminous, complex laws with multiple revisions specifically to ensure that _everyone_ can be found guilty of _some_ law. Then anyone who makes trouble (=disagrees) can "legally" be imprisoned. All that needs to be done is to find some obscure law or regulation that the person broke.

The CFR is now over 150,000 pages.

You can extrapolate for yourselves.
