HV Ken
Wow. I think we are not charging enough. New client this year, HRB customer last year. Same return - HRB charged $256 - I cannot get our fee even close to that. I think when people complain about our fees from now on, I am going to hand them their papers and say "why don't you check out HRB and see what they charge." My new motto: Better service. Better price. More experience. Choose three!

mrichman333
HRB is the biggest rip off going IMO
GeorgeM
They are trying to make up for the year they could not do rapid refunds/
MsTabbyKats
Here's what I want to know.... They take their fee from your refund, right. But suppose someone goes there....and surprise, surprise....they owe. I wonder how many pay the fee....and how many walk, never to be seen again? I've worked for Jackson Hewitt in the past and know they increase their fees every year. Tabby you're right about them turning into the invisible man when they owe the government. LOL! Lion EA
I try very hard to charge more than HRB, because I'm worth it.
RitaB
I can't get past wondering why there was a need for a Form 2210 for a person with only a W-2. I guess we can figure that out, too. Cha. Ching.
JMovichEA
New client referred to me paid HRB $243 last year for a return with income less than the filing requirement (She is 82), only had to file to receive refund from withholding. They filed a schedule A and told her she saved a bunch of money. Would have taken me 15 minutes for the return had I not had to enter her new information. HV Ken
I try very hard to charge more than HRB, because I'm worth it. We have a private entrance home office and not nearly the overhead of a franchise, which allows us to pass superior service and competitive pricing on to our clients.
RitaB
I can't charge what they charge because I can't turn returns around like they do. Plus, I like the way I conduct business, and I also like that people cannot say I overcharge. People leave them for that. Many of them come to me. And they stay.
HV Ken
Another new client from HRB. This time, HRB included an itemized list of their charges per form. Holy Cow do they charge a lot! Really need to think about our pricing moving forward.
Crank
A lot of my customer base are prior HRB customers. I easily beat them on price and service. What a rip off. But people want to "Get Their Billion Back!"
