BulldogTom
Taxpayer has 5 box 12 entries. The company gave him 2 W2s, the second only had the DD code on it. I entered both W2s but ATX says it will not transmit the 2nd one because there are no wages. I am not terribly worried, it is only a DD entry. Never encountered this before. Medlin Software, Dennis
DD never took hold. IIRC is not required for those with <250 employees. Not sure about 250 or more.
TexTaxToo
I don't think DD is needed. One way to enter it if all codes are needed is to reduce the Box 1 wages on the first W-2 by $1, and include the $1 on the second W-2.
Lion EA
In my software, I just keep adding Box 12 codes and amounts, as many as needed, on the main Form W-2 and e-file. The "second" W-2 might be a limitation at the payroll company and not a limitation from the IRS for e-filing.
Abby Normal
Just enter the ones that matter. And if you don't know which ones matter, you shouldn't be preparing taxes. 2
