Keeping everything secure is going to be a never ending battle. I miss the 20th century. Things were either so simple or we were very innocent and naïve back then. Seems like yesterday.

Got an email from client who barely made the extended deadline with return and payment to CA. The email says "can you explain what these letters are and why I have to pay a penalty"? No, I think I can't explain that to you, because I tried to explain that when you blew me off at April 15th. Tom Newark, CA

I had one leave her info in the mailbox this morning. I really don't mind. Better now than when I'm covered up. I'm here at the office four days a week with year round folks. Might as well not be bored. It does amaze me that they don't seem concerned about deadlines at all.

Just had a client who missed the deadline come by and have me help him fill out a check for estimated tax. For 2015. He did not mention when he'd be able to get his tax info in. He's been busy. (So busy).

E-Services is putting in a new, more secure service that was targeted for 24 October but has been postponed. We will have to re-authenticate ourselves again with stricter info.

I still have a guy from whom I am waiting to get info for the 1099-MISC's for January 2016 (for the 2015 tax year). He gave me the 2014 info this past May.

Yeah, but then I think about my daughter's tuition for grad school, and I decide to wait till I'm rich as ship to do that. Plus, he is a real help in spreading the ship throughout the year. Expanding they tax year even. Good ship.

Ever think of telling him to get his ship out of your office ?

Everything will be in ship shape, I'm sure.

Once he gets his ship together, the fun will begin.

My e-services log in no longer works. When I ask for a new password, it requires I provide it with my old password because obviously that's normal. edit: trying a few minutes later again to log in and it says an error occurred and I should try again later. Great. e-services has ALWAYS been a problem for me. They voided me out several times for no apparent reason and then all of a sudden I was fully back in the system. Can't figure them out at all.
