A few have messaged me their e-mail addresses and I have sent the information out. If you message me your e-mail address, I will send it to anyone who may be interested. 3. kcjenkins could not have stated it better!! ATX customer support was 5 gold star all the time!! CCH, 1.5 bronze stars. William and his crew were irreplacable, and when CCH bought ATX, many of them were shafted big time!!
  4. If there is Wifi in the seminar room, I will log in here and relay information and questions in real time. Anyone wanting to pop in, seminar runs from 8-5 EST with an hour for lunch.
  5. Too late for any e-file. Paper file all, until Jan when e-file starts again.
  6. In return manager, there is a column showing date created, and another colomn showing last modified date. I have not checked on the VA return to see if it pulls the information form Sch. A for long term care insurance. I am still in process of installing the payroll program as well. I will post any discoveries I make.
  7. I think rollover being slow is the fact that they have it using formats for last year's forms. In addition, the new program has an entirely NEW "engine." The basic program is different, so rolling over involves more steps than in the past. I am going to the seminar on Saturday, Dec.8 in Kennesaw, and you can be sure it will be discussed, either in the seminar or in the "time out room" somewhere. I should be able to log in here on Saturday, so anyone that wants to be here and ask things, I will attempt to pass the questions and answers on in real time.
  8. Come visit the VA hospital in Dayton, Ohio. You will be enlightened....
  9. I chose to respond to her message... Here is my response... (Did I say that I love stirring things up with weak minded government employees?) Your very well thought out and properly delivered message was received loud and clear. It is IRS employees like yourself that give me delight in my poking fun...
  10. Maybe I should reconsider my career field..... (Sarcasm alert!!!!) I long for the day that I may talk to that person on the phone!!!!!
  11. How can I sleep when I know that these things are being said about me by an IRS employee?? Depression is creeping in....
  12. I am sooooooooooooooooooooo despondent about this. I am a bad person and should go eat some worms....
  13. I just received this message privately from a brand new member. She joined today about an hour ago. I am one of the nameless faceless IRS people that you have chosen to annoy. ALL of your ideas are assinine and infantile. The return that came to us in a glad bag because it was smeared with brown stuff way beats your ideas. You wouldn't recognize me walking down the street. i look like lots of other women. I am buying my own house and take care of rescue animals. Anything you do to us takes time and costs you. so go ahead feel proud of yourself because we will do our jobs and you are the idiot !!! Any comments? This person will know who they are, and I DARE them to respond in this thread.
  14. Seminar is Saturday. I will check here and e-mails Friday night.
  15. Think about a modern computer with all the appriate drivers to run Dos 6.22???? Would put all WIN operating systems to shame!!!
  16. The Myans did not have leap years. Their date has long since passed!!!
  17. Do you recognize this? Load *.*,8,1
  18. Have you loaded and tried the 2012 software yet? It is supposed to be radically different in several areas. I am adding your request to my list.
  19. WIN8 will cause you to relearn how to use a mouse, how to start programs and how to shutdown your computer. I will wait a few weeks for the opinions from those that use WIN8. "skipping 8, it don't rate!"
  20. Changing to a newly released Operating System one month before the start of tax season is to wish intense mental anguish upon yourself. Despite any sales rhetoric you hear...
  21. Anyone with pressing questions, please send them to me in a message here. Seminar is Sat. morning, so I will compile all the questions. I am hoping to see a developer or a tech support person for some one-on-one dialogue. Let me know.
  22. WIN 8 is mouse unfriendly. I do not have any systems, nor do any of my computer customers have systems (at least not yet) witn WIN8 on them. I was at a vendor symposium at Infotel (google them if you want to know about them) where Microsoft had a tablet PC with WIN 8 on it, and another desktop with WIN 8. After my hands on experience doing the basic things, I stand by my recommendations. Go to a computer store and try it yourself hands on. You will HATE the interface for WIN 8, unlsess you are using a touchscreen device.
  23. YES What jainen said!!! Procrastination is not an acceptable excuse.
  24. I am expecting Payroll to cost extra next year. This is just my gut feeling. Here is the e-mail I just received..... A Change to Delivery of ATX Payroll Compliance Forms Dear Valued Customer, We have begun shipping the ATX tax program! We are excited about the enhancements and new features in ATX for tax year 2012. This message is to let you know about a change to the delivery and use of ATX payroll compliance forms, including W-2s, 1099s and 94x series. In previous years, these forms were included with the ATX tax program, along with 1040s and other forms. This year we are delivering the payroll compliance forms as a separate program that looks and works just like ATX for tax year 2011. This program is called Payroll Compliance Reporting. We are delivering payroll forms separately so that in future years we can release them on a schedule that best fits payroll compliance filing deadlines. In the long term, we believe this will better serve you and your clients. Receiving your payroll forms To receive your payroll forms, simply download the Payroll Compliance Reporting program from the MyATX Solution Center, save the downloaded file to your desktop, and then install the program by double-clicking the downloaded file*. The program includes all the payroll compliance forms that are included in the MAX, Total Tax Office and Total Tax & Accounting Office packages and it works just like your ATX tax program for tax year 2011. You'll find more information in the PDF files below: Frequently Asked Questions About ATX Payroll Compliance Forms Step-by-Step Instructions for Downloading Payroll Compliance Reporting If you have additional questions, please e-mail Customer Care at [email protected] or call us at 800-638-8291. Sincerely, Michael Smith Product Manager
  25. Think "Vista" only with the twist that if you have a computer with WIN8 that is not touchscreen, you will need to learn all about how WIN8 is not mouse friendly. As a long time computer nerd, WIN8 is my "skip" OS from Microsoft. Microsoft is in such a "catch up" race with Apple that they are being more sloppy than ever about releasing incomplete and poorly engineered OS.
