Isn't this an issue that should have been addressed before the software was released? Looks like they are up to their old tricks of pushing out a product and using the paying customers as their guinea pigs.

Are you looking to feed this person clients to work with? No matter if the person has their own book of business or not you always have to worry about eventually losing a client if someone else does the work. This profession is all about personal relationship and if the existing client likes this person there is always the underlying fear when that person leaves so leaves the client with them.

Why were they unwilling to add that to 13?

Extension was submitted to ATX on 4/15 but they did not receive until 4:57AM on 16th. Wasn't there some issue with electronic filing around that time?

Are you using the extra FAM software or are you talking about the FAM within the tax package?

If it is off of a network setup it is not that datapath. You have to go into the workstation folder. I suggest calling them and they will walk you through the install.

Windows 7 Ultimate should be good if you are suggesting Pro?

The computer having the issue was with CD but from my understanding they were aware of this issue and tried to get 13.1 out ASAP so people would not run into this issue.

Why do you need a machine that old?

I think you asked the wrong question. Sure you can install it on a terminal server by selecting server or standalone for all that matters. The question that should have been asked is the following: Has anyone had success in multiple users logging into a terminal server at the same time and accessing the 2013 software and if so did they use the server or standalone install? A terminal server is different from a server setup since you install on one computer but put the icon on different desktops within that computer.

Kim Manuel just emailed me saying this was fixed in 13.1 release.

Got a slight problem with the rollovers. If a 2012 return was completed prior to the most recent update you have to go back in 2012 software open and save the return before being able to roll it over to 13. Is there any way to fix this or is this a problem we just have to deal with?

ATX 12 never had a problem doing a return with only a W2 and sch A so I would hope those would work well in 13. The problem with 12 was the more complex a return became the slower the software ran. The only real test with 13 will take place when almost all forms are available. The problem here is that it might be too late to make a move if 13 does not live up to expectations.

I would be willing to say 0-10% of partnerships I deal with have an operating agreement they follow. Most make money and go about their business. Not sure what could be in the OA that would impact an audit.

I ran a test and it was worthless, return had 94 forms of which 5 were available so I was unable to really test speed.

I dont think this is a traffic issue error code especially since you have to back your way into the download screen. It may just not be active.

Payroll appears to download but not the tax

I think they are very aware ATX 2012 doesnt convert well. They told me it wouldnt surprise them if ATX did so on purpose to make converting difficult.
