  1. I think it might be fixed in latest version. I just deleted my entries and it's fine. Oddly enough, these folks were retired NJ cops who thought they'd qualify for the subtraction.
  2. I noticed that. I made some entries and it went away. Not really sure why but I got the zero I wanted. Have you reported this to ATX? Don't you mean 502SU?
  3. The more you know.... the more you wish you had become a sound engineer for music.
  4. Time to call support! Good luck! From ATX Knowledge Base: https://support.cch.com/sfs/solution/15660
  5. Did you try running 16 and opening a few returns? If your 16 server is running, not sure what it could be. Run the 16 admin console.

  7. Damn! I could've gotten a free banana split!
  8. With ATX, we're all just stumbling around in the dark finding new places. Unless you read the user's guide... which I probably ought to do someday. Probably be good to just read the table of contents and index!
  9. My AMT clients haven't shown up yet, but thanks for the heads up! Now if ATX would only let you pick the number of columns you wanted, we could all save a lot of toner!
  10. Just came down late last night. I ran it on my Test Client file and it looks good. The new higher income limits for child tax credit helped on this test file, as did the QBI deduction. And even though the actual tax was higher, the child and family tax credits reduced the tax by almost 60%.
  11. I love eServices and have used it since the 90s. It makes being a tax pro much more enjoyable, and clients are impressed by my inside access to the IRS.
  12. Scrapple is the food of the gods! I describe to newbies as 'rustic paté.
  13. I changed my cellphone number awhile ago because too many clients were calling it and texting me. I removed it from my business cards and emailed every client explaining why. Call my land line, leave a message. Or send an email. We can save voice messages to the client's folder. I keep hoping someday I'll get to play one back for a client.
  14. People are not self sufficient and just want ATX to hold their hand and make everything ok whenever something goes wrong. When all they need to do is search the forums. Of course, 90% of them suck at computers so when you tell them to clear the windows temp folder, they have no clue. I hope they all switch to Drake. ATX isn't making any money off them if they're tying up support every day.
  15. I just got transcripts from eservices where the POA was 2.5 years old, but I haven't called the IRS <shudder>.
  16. I would have refused to do the W2s without the QB backup.
  17. All the good stuff in windows is in the right-click menus.
  18. Alright, but if I hear banjos, I'm running!
  19. My state has bronze plans so I just lookup bronze and enter x12 on the Affordability tab. If the calc says they could have afforded it, I go to Worksheet A and check the months each person wasn't covered. The step 4 on SRP questions is automatic, so SRP is calculated. But I could be doing it wrong!
  20. We print all 4 packets (as needed) to PDF then print from PDFs as needed: Filing: personal property returns for business Client: estimated vouchers & letters/K1s for business Preparer: complete return (except forms printed in other packets) Custom: efile signature forms, engagement letter, payment vouchers, bank info page for signature
  21. They should have talked to Boothby. He's the smart gardener.
  22. You should be able to right click and save photo to drive. I use Thunderbird and photos show inline but also as attachment. I keep forgetting I'm not on the official board and I don't have to keep my sentences short. Sorry if I sound Russian!
  23. If you just print to PDF does it crash during the PDF print? We never print directly to printer and have never had this problem.
  24. I think most of us do, but it easy to forget about qualifying for the eic and other things, unless you have a long check list. I use the ATX check list in the 1040.
