  1. We either buy our 1099s from Tenenz or Quill. Never had any compatibility problems. They should all be to IRS specs.
  2. Late to the party, but I never sausage a thing.
  3. Most stock desktops use on board video to keep prices down, but installing a video card bypasses the on board video, anyway.
  4. Go to Staples and buy the forms? Ask a local EA/CPA if he can buy/beg/borrow a couple?
  5. We efile W2s right from QuickBooks just by clicking a button. Intuit charges a fee to efile 1099s, so we just mail those in... for now.
  6. It doesn't make sense in our operation to use a separate program for payroll, even if it somehow imports into QuickBooks.
  7. I haven't been on hold lately but an IRS agent told me they changed from Nutcracker to 'smooth jazz'.
  8. Was this reported to ATX?
  9. That's a known issue for partnership returns that were completed in January in 2014. I believe the solution is to reprocess in 2014, then rollover again.
  10. Good luck with Ultra Tax. Here's a friendly UT user's group on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/TCSGUT/
  11. Never spoil your clients. Mine are trained to leave a message and get a reply with one business day... or so.
  12. That's an awful lot of typing and opportunities to make mistakes. Until I can export from QuickBooks to SSA, that's never going to be a viable option.
  13. All's good here. Peer-to-peer server/workstation set up.
  14. Thanks Catherine! Your link to Salvation Army returns a 404 page not found. Here's the link I have on my desktop: https://satruck.org/Home/DonationValueGuide
  15. Preparer Info is not currently rolling over and neither is it filling in based on current year preferences. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.
  16. Yes, I had the exact same problem with the non-cash donations page. Also the dependents page. I sent it to Nuance for their evaluation, but they are not being helpful.
  17. I have many of my letters exported to My Documents. When one gets frelled up, I either import it or copy/paste the text from the exported letter into ATX.
  18. Just found this in User Guide: If at any time you would like to restore any Master Template to its default state: 1. Open the desired template. 2. Do one of the following: Click the Restore button on the toolbar. Click the Tools menu; then, select Restore. Right-Click the desired template; then, select Restore.
  19. Letters are always a mess in ATX, but especially early on. My rolled over letters have duplicate text in them this year. I just keep fixing them and save for future returns. We usually have to delete letters after rollover and then re-add them. I don't know of any way to reset the letters, but occasionally, ATX seems to reset them for me, much to my dismay since my letters are highly customized.
  20. We treat these just like we do credit cards, enter all the transactions as either an asset or an expense, and create a liability. Unfortunately, Snap-on is famous for having multiple accounts for one customer. Good luck!
  21. I did not even have this problem in 2013.
  22. What's your setup and number of clients?
  23. But we still have the mystery as to why some of us do not experience this problem. Unless you've determined that it happens after a certain number of clients?
  24. It would be nice if we could detect some pattern for those who do and do not have this problem. It could be a problem with one of windows networking files. Windows networking is notoriously flaky. I have 399 files in 2014. I'm going to duplicate 50 files to see if that triggers the issue. My computer is a server/workstation, but I will try running from one of my workstations as well. Edit: Jeez, you can only duplicate 1 at a time.
  25. One nice thing about using ATX letters is putting in variables so the year is always correct.
