  3. I use http://www.taxalmanac.com to research quickly. They have a reasearch resource button that is linked to IRS, IRC, Legalbitstream, Tax Court, etc and it's easy to locate and print out what you need. Maybe Eric can add something similar to our website. taxbilly

  10. Did he incorporate the business himself or did he rely on a professional? If he did it himself he was ignorant of the advantages of S-Corp election. If he relied on a professional, did that person explain to him the advantages? These could be possible reasons for a late election, I would think. taxbilly

  16. It's hard to convince clients that a huge refund is not smart. All they know is that their neighbor got a big refund and they want one too. The current Turbotax ad depicting our founding fathers reinforces that idea. taxbilly

  20. Be aware that all qualified real estate taxes are eligible, not only qualified personal residence tax. taxbilly
  21. In the 2007 program click on the Tax Warehouse tab just above the line that says Returns and move to the right to the column that says Total Deductions. Put your mouse on the words Total Deductions and click once. You can then scroll down and mark those returns that show the standard deduction and print it out for reference. taxbilly
