  1. >>I'll be coming out almost even as far as monthly hosting bills go. << Not nearly gopod enough for me. The check is in the mail! z
  2. >>Why should the supplemental insurance get that whole $250?<< I agree that patient cannot keep the $250. I would send it to the supplemental ins since thay pay "what is left". I really don't care how the ins companies subrogate between themselves. z
  3. >>If the hospital has agreed to accept $9750 in full payment,<< The hospital made no such arrangement. The agreement was to pay patients share in full, which was done. z
  4. as i said in post #2, the discount IS due from the hospital. It should be paid to the school ins co. z
  5. Jainen can handle it. I think he just got caught with one of his "everybody is talking - who is listening?" answers!!! z
  6. >>re-engaged the billing office by forwarding that check<< ??? >>You can't expect to keep the early payment discount when you actually paid later.<< The patient's responsibility was overpaid at this time. That is why he got a refund. "a prompt pay discount if I would pay what they calculated to be my responsibility before the surgery. I took the offer, wrote them a check," Just what part of offer, acceptance and performance is missing here?? z
  7. I agree that you should be outraged. You fullfilled the terms of the agreement and the hospital unilaterally abrogated same. I suggest that you assume position © which will resolve any question of "insurance fraud". Then request appointment with the supervisor's supervisor. z
  8. Elrod - I agree fully. After a careful review of the current market problems, I have decided that a very large numeber of minds much greater than mine took many, many years to screw this up this badly, and that the only response I can make is lets have another frikkin beer.
  9. 44,507.45 + 61,161.00 ____________ 105,668.45 = net distributable estate ========== 105,668.45/3 = 35,222.82 each. 61,161.00 - 35,222.82 ___________ 25,938.18 John must deposit, then cash can be split 50/50. ========= z
  10. Way back when most of us were on "dial-up", we were quite willing to pay the shipping fee to have several (10?) updates sent by mail. Now most uf us update online and still pay the "shipping fee" because that fee now pays the salary of the bean counter that should eliminate it! Z

  13. happy birthday (tomorrow)!!!!!
  14. good idea - I woll add you to my list! :P
  15. on or before the earlier of - (i) the date on which the taxpayer files a return for the taxable year in which the contribution was made, or (ii) the due date (including extensions) for filing such return.
  16. >>It's not true, of course<< I see three choices, are there more?? 1. K.C. misquoted T.J. 2. T.J. disebled. 3. Jainen understands the topic better than T.J. z
  17. NOthin wrong with being opinionated. You have time and again shown that you are in fact a student of all you observe, and that your opinion is an informed opinion made with an open mind. I have it on good authority that Chase Bank is next in line for a government bailout after making 130% FMV loans to ????? I am sure they will be glad to share with you. BulldogTom surely knows a good HVAC tech who can (1) clean the air, (2) stay for the party, (3) bill you for his time. This is al getting quite expensive - with Lion's air fare from Conneticut and all. A lesser man might have difficullty finding the business expense for a 100% deduction, not just 50% m&e. No challenge for your vivid imagination tho. z
  18. I also use Medlin - it is accurate & inexpensive & well supported. z
  19. "I'm always amazed that more people don't challenge some of the nonsense I post. " From another thread, MaMalody wrote: >>That's one reason he shouldn't do that, at least, without some type of disclaimer or notification. << Jainen - offtimes methinks thou extends us credit overlymuch. Zeke
  20. >>a client of mine won a lawsuit of 18K,<< Must we not first determine that this is in fact taxable income???? Zeke
  21. no on lawn care and no on ins. Planning date of fiscal year and payment of administrator fees & legal fees can often help minimize estate income tax. zeke
  22. "There is no option to show that the house is a personal sale " Correct. The estate, not the decedent now owns the house. The loss IS deductable. zeke
  23. I have today added FixRollover to my friends list. From his/her few posts I guess the following: 1. Drawing a paycheck from CCH as tech. 2. Wants (must?) to keep a low profile. 3. Likes the job & wants to help. 4. Has potential to be great asset to this board. 5. Should be encouraged to participate further. Zeke
  24. >>Thank you so much for your assistance on this. Rideaux was a very good case, and I did not find it until you pointed it out. Your advice was spot on as usual. I wanted you to know that I really value your input on this board. You are appreciated. Tom Lodi, CA << Tom - a most gracious thank you and well deserved. I will chose this opportunity to make a suggestion to all. You come out ahead - you won your case and will surely bill for your efforts. Jainen has what he wants - your (and our) respect. All of us benefit from not only this specific experience, but generally knowing that we do in fact have friends willing to help. My suggestion - Tom makes an extra "thank you Jainen" donation to Eric whose efforts make all this possible? Zeke
  25. >>In addition to clarifying employee exemptions, the revised law also expanded the definition of “tax preparation” to include data entry. Individuals who input tax-related data into a computer must now register as a CRTP.<< "expanded" is an understatement. Data entry into a computer can include just about anyone who can turn the computer on! zeke
