There is no separate form for VA. There is only a box in the upper right of the 760CG that is checked. When you amend the Federal that box is automatically marked. To see the result of the amendment open the Amended (VA 760CG) worksheet. Hope that helps. Gregg

I've gotten pretty good rates from EZ Insurance Solutions Professional Liability Insurance Program. It's through Affinity Insurance Services and is underwritten by Continental Casualty Company. I've used them for the last few years and they've only bumped the annual premium minimally, maybe $10 per year. I also don't know how they would respond if I ever submitted a claim.

Go to Line 7 on the 1040. Click on it. Then click on Line 7 - Wages. If you filled out the FECWKST the amount should be on Non-W2 Wages line 5. Check the box to carry the amount to the 2555. Hope that helps. Gregg

Try using the regular W-2 input. At the top there is a box "Special type (wages)" where there is a drop down menu. Select the option for: To Form 2555 - qualified foreign exclusion. Gregg

You might take a look in the form instructions at the exceptions to the requirement for filing the 8582 to see if any of them fit your situations. If they do you will need to override the Schedule E. Gregg

There is a FICA exemption available for students that work for that educational institution. That may be the reason there is no withholding. Gregg

I think you can just add the asset for the Schedule C and assign it to an Asset Category of Home Office and the depreciation flows to the 8829. You will need to manually enter the home and land values on lines 36 & 37 of the 8829. Gregg

Congratulations! A word of advice - keep your one-person office. Speaking from experience, if you hang your shingle in one of the chains you'll be designated as the 'expert' and end up spending most of your time fielding questions from new preparers, reviewing or fixing returns they prepared, and explaining changes in the returns to disgruntled customers when they come back in to sign new paperwork.
