  1. Just wanted to update here -- according to ATX, there is a BUG in the 4562.
  2. Oh good grief -- I was going to be doing one of those this week! I guess not.

    1099 acks

I received all of mine last week. But I'm still waiting on seven 940's and I'm not getting any answers from ATX (Imagine that). But I'm on hold right now, and I'm not hanging up until I have my ACK's or it's time to go home -- whichever comes first. Edited to add: Same story, 2nd verse. Donna w/ATX called the E-Filing Center of the IRS and they stated that they (IRS) was having issues with the 940/941 ACKs -- they hope to have it solved in a few days.
  4. On the 1040-EF Info Check the box for Personal Representative and then complete Section C with the PR's name.
  5. I sent a 1041 on 2/7 -- still says VALIDATED BY EFC.
  6. Yesterday, I printed off my corporate Depreciation for 2007. I used this amount in my calculations of TAXABLE INCOME. After doing an update this morning to ATX -- my depreciation was all of a sudden $5325 HIGHER. I thought WT???? So I went back to compare what I printed yesterday vs what is there today. I have 3 company vehicles (listed property-100% business use, fully depreciated) used by the salesmen. Everyone one of them had additional $1775 depreciation for 2007 -- keep in mind, these 3 vehicles were fully depreciated. Now I have accum depreciation over the basis. WHAT is ATX doing this year? Have they not heard of: If it ain't broke -- don't try to fix it???? I wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem yet and to make everyone aware of this -- Check your Depreciation!
  7. This was discussed in an IRS TeleForum -- it does not qualify.
  8. I just efiled one with OTHER INTEREST on line 16 b -- I just put x's in the name, address, etc. area. It was accepted this afternoon.
  9. My niece is going to school in California and has a Work Study W-2 for $2650 (no withholdings). What are the filing requirements for California? She has to file a federal return to report the sale of a Mutual fund for $10K (Loss of $2,000). She is a Nebraska resident and still claimed on her parent's return. I haven't done a Calif. return in over 5 years. I thought it would be faster to just ask here than to sift thru the California website/forms for the filing requirements. Thanks in advance. Chris

    1099MISC e-file

I just got back 6 ACK's on 1099's. Edited to add: I just got back ALL my 1099 ACKs.
  11. I solved the problem by just putting x's in the name, address, city state & zip. Inconvenient? A bit, but no more than some other things. You just fix it and go on.
  12. jjones1157, do you have the same problem hooking your laptop up to the router? If so, I would buy a different router and be done with it. I use D-Link and have had no problems. But I also don't use the Windows Firewall -- I use AVG Firewall and Antivirus. You don't happen to use Norton Security do you? I had all kinds of problems with that and connecting to the internet.

    941/941 ACKS

RJM, ok -- just wanted to make sure. I know some people don't have any idea what IRS E-Services are. Doesn't that work great??? I remember when it used to take WEEKS to get a transcript from the IRS. Now we can have it in a matter of a few minutes.

    941/941 ACKS

RJM, I didn't call IRS E-file. I went to E-SERVICES online with the IRS. I checked the transcript of my clients. The ones that I have acceptances back on, are showing on the client's transcript. The others are not. I don't have much faith in the IRS this year either. They are STILL processing an amended 940EZ from 2005 (it will be a year in May -- my inquiries are returned with, we are still working on it).
  15. Aren't you glad you got PEOPLE and THE BOX? :D
  16. Snowblowers? Lucky dog! Ours are operated with two hands and lifting. But 39 days and counting until Cancun.

    941/941 ACKS

ACS, my last phone call with ATX regarding this issue was last Friday -- NO WAY was I calling yesterday (Monday's are nuts anyways). But it's time for another call. I have 7 missing 940's ACK's -- I have given the ID's to TWO people. The last one said: They cannot re-generate the ACK's any more but they will have to manually FAX the ACK's to us. I have checked e-services at IRS and they do not have any record of receiving the forms.
  18. Ver. 10 of 5695 is now approved for e-filing. I just did my first one!
  19. About every 15 minutes. The "Update area" says the form is approved, but obviously the PROGRAM isn't recognizing the 5695. But it will have to wait until tomorrow now -- my day is done.
  20. On this same topic -- can an employer HOLD a W-2 if the employee (former) owes them money?
  21. Education credits, no problem. The Form Version 9 for Form 5695 says "approved" and the form itself no longer has the 'not approved" gray printing, but still can't create an efile.
  22. Just received this from ATX:
  23. When I call E-file Help Desk (IRS), I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes. Of course, I have only had to call them twice -- in 5 years. But why on earth would a PRACTIONER give a client the phone number of a PRACTIONER help line?
  24. I've already started to warn my early filers that they they shouldn't expect their large refund this time next year because they will be getting part of it in late spring, early summer. They just look at me with glazed over eyes, and shake their head yes like they understand. The "Deer in Headlight" look.
