Play nice!!!! Don't make me turn this car around!!! Go to your room! OK - -I am having flashbacks from when my kids were young- - - BUT - -As I also told the powers that be that I would be as vocal if they improved the program or not, that I would NOT make any changes to my computer (Vista 64 with 4 g Ram) and am a stand alone one person office. - -They took a HUGE gamble on selecting me - - -HUGE! Sooooooooooooo when we CAN divulge any information - -trust me - - -WE WILL - -often and LOUDLY! -
Probably - -but what the heck

Good Luck Jack! Will be looking forward to reading your comments after the meting! Keep us informed please. -
My MOTHER - -(of all people! )- -wanted to deduct the total cost of the new roof on her double - - because the apartment upstairs was rented - -and of course - -the roof was over THEIR head!!! The things she would ask me - -because she heard it while she was at the slots in the casino!!! OY!

I agree SaraEA - - breaking up is hard to do (just TRY to go to another hairdresser!!!), but it is a fact of life. They probably came to YOU from someone! :dunno:

UFO week - - -"Un Finished Objects" - - cleaning up the office - -cleaning up the house - - - doing rehab on 4th knee surgery - - AND - - part of my "non-court mandated community service" a few sewing projects for Our Lady Of Victory Basilica - - a FABULOUS building with a unique history - - the Founder, Fr. Baker is up for canonization - -and after this past taxseason - - - -I need ALL the purgatory time I can get removed!!!!

I also got the heads up on being a tester. But - -I did inform them that I would be brutally honest. I would NOT change anything on my computer (ie exe/config etc) and I would just load & go! It only took 18 revisions to FINALLY be able to roll over a return from 2012 - - - -yeah - -after hearing all along that it was MY fault. :wall: Soooooooooooooooooooooo let's see waht happens in a month or so.
-
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm - - can you keep us all posted please??? I think the only issue with your 2012 program is that it has been up-dated to version 12.17, with is somewhat functional. It would be an interesting perspective to have you attempt to use the first 13 versions.

thanks mcb39!!! 31 years in the business - - over 7500 tax returns processed - -all - - by - - -myself!!! With, 3 audits - -probably about 30 letters requiring verification or more information - -I thought I had a pretty good record. Now - -after this year of only 135 return - -I am awaiting the letters - - my confidence level sunk to the lowest it as ever been. On the good side - - -sine I was unable to open any rolled over return (until 12.5!!!) I reacquainted myself with EVERY bit of information for my clients!!! On the bad side - - 100 letter going to clients telling them I could no longer prepare their taxes - -had to bee addressed by hand - - nail in the coffin! Again - -pretty sure they don't want me!

Sent pm - - pretty sure they don't want ME!

My experience this past season has made my decision to downsize very easy. Back in 1999 I prepared 640 tax returns - -all by myself - -with ATX. Today I received the most arrogant and insulting renewal offer ever. I presume that there will never be any responsibility taken for the 2012 fiasco, but I also cannot continue with their promises, because - - we all know how well that went last year! The icing on the cake - - -"we have received positive feedback after version 12.3 was released in early April" REALLY???? You finally had a somewhat working program with 10 days left??? :wall: :wall: Soooooo I am testing Drake to prepare less than 50 personal (some Sched C) returns for next year. I realize that there will be a learning curve, and am unable to make any of the seminars, but would appreciate any input from others.

Mike, I am a Looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time user of ATX, and this year's less than stellar product has made my decision to "retire" very easy. However, I am looking for a product for 50 ish returns with efiling and 5 out-of-NYS returns (VT & DE). Price in the $500/ range since most are slacker family memebers! So, count me in please! Thanks for the input Ken! I am still reeling from the accusation that it was "only my computer" fault!!! The indignation of the support group (which in hindsight - -was sheer overwhelming) was pretty unsettling for a one person office. It wasn't until the end of February that after multiple calls etc, that the software was workable. I am still waiting for an apology from SENIOR management!!!
