mcb39
I just had my first crash while trying to run a return check. It happened right after the last 15 form update. Prior to that I filed two returns this morning, printed; everything was working fine. When I saw that the 4562 was in the new updates, I opened a return that was waiting for it. I was going to check the return one last time and then create the e-file. I tried it twice and crashed both times.
Randall
Same here. Happened when I did a check return.
ILLMAS
When you say crash, did you lose everything you entered when you reopen the return?
Randall
No, everything is there. When I clicked the check return, the program closed.
JMovichEA
Same problem here too. Check the return and the program crashes.
Randall
Is it something to do with a return with depreciatio? I saved it before, and checked the return, then was prompted about attaching a pdf file to the efile. Was looking around on how to do that and then had the problem. Tax Prep by Deb
I also had this problem of checking a return and then the program closed. The only one I've had this problem with is one containing depreciation. Previous to the updates I was able to actually able to check and create the e-file (just couldn't send it). I have opened that return and tried again but I'm pretty sure it has to do with depreciation. Deb!
mcb39
That is probably true. I was able to check return yesterday on this same return and was warned that I could not file without the 4562. Today the 4562 updated and since then I can't check the return. Will try to create an e-file since it cleared the check yesterday except for the 4562.
jklcpa
I rolled one return over to test this, a partnership with over 100 assets. Error checking the return caused mine to crash also.
Danny Payne CPA
Evidently this is specifically related to the new Form 4562. Mine also crashes when doing a check return now - but not for returns without Form 4562. I just posted event logs for the crash on the 'official' board. And things were actually going a little better, I thought.
JMovichEA
Just tried the same return and it's no longer crashing doing a check. 4562 must have been updated later today.
mcb39
Just tried the same return and it's no longer crashing doing a check. 4562 must have been updated later today. They just announced that it had been updated to correct the incident.
