Tax Prep by Deb Posted April 16, 2024 Report Posted April 16, 2024 Anyone get a renewal offer yet? Quote
JRS Posted April 16, 2024 Report Posted April 16, 2024 Nothing, but I have used PPR for a couple of years and never received a renewal since. Quote
jklcpa Posted April 16, 2024 Report Posted April 16, 2024 I haven't had anything from Drake yet. Tax Book's offer came in the mail today. Quote
Lee B Posted April 22, 2024 Report Posted April 22, 2024 I have received mine: 1. Drake has raised the price of their standard multiuser software by about 20%. 2. Drake as added two new selections: Single User Unlimited and Single User 1040 (No business returns) 3. I will continue to use Drake Pay Per Return (ten Individual returns included) as I have the past 2 tax seasons although they have raised the price for additional personal returns from $35 to $40 and additional business returns from $ 50 to $60, which will cost about me $150 more for next tax season but it's still about $600 leas than the Single User Unlmited price. mcbreck Posted April 23, 2024 Report Posted April 23, 2024 I buy via Sigma Tax, $999 for the last 2 years and the same next year. Quote

When you have support related questions, do you call Sigma or Drake? Does your efiling activity and download updates go through a Sigma or a Drake website? Quote
mcbreck Posted April 23, 2024 Report Posted April 23, 2024 I would call Sigma. My experience is the people you call are terrific at fixing computer problems, not tax problems. They'll try and help but you aren't getting the best answer if you need help with real tax questions. I've never called with real tax questions but that's just my interpretation from talking with them. If it's not printing, they'll be great with that type of problem. All efiling and downloads go directly through the software to / from Drake. Once installed, you can't tell Sigma is involved except their logo shows up on the initial log-in screen. 1 1 Quote

So this means if I am having difficulty finding a specific worksheet, I can't call Drake Support ? Quote

mcbreck Posted April 24, 2024 Report Posted April 24, 2024 I have access to the Knowledge Base, not the forum. Even when I was using the software purchased directly through Drake I never used their forum. If I can't find a specific worksheet or where / how to enter something I go to the Knowledge Base site and have detailed instructions very quickly. 1 Quote

Just curious what are you getting for $999? I don't see a $295 version but if they had one I'd assume it is the PPR product but I know the $695 is the web based product that only handles 1040 returns. I get the desktop product that includes ALL the returns they handle. It says on their site: Our 1040-DR product comes in desktop and web based versions, if you need to file business returns such as Forms 1120 or 1065 you will need the desktop version. TW is Taxwise - I don't know what the SR product is for them. They used to resell Crosslink but holy cow that was horrific the time I demoed it years ago. 1 Quote
Randall Posted April 25, 2024 Report Posted April 25, 2024 I've received one snail mailing and several emails from ATX. I'll call soon to renew. Quote
Catherine Posted April 26, 2024 Report Posted April 26, 2024 I did get a renewal notice from Drake, with different options. I'll be looking at them soon. Still recovering from bronchitis. 1 1 Quote
Terry D EA Posted May 1, 2024 Report Posted May 1, 2024 I got the renewal notice as well. If you use the full Pro bundle the price is relatively close to last year if you but it before May 31. It retails around 2900 plus dollars. With the discounts the bundle price is $2094.00. I knew there would be a price increase but this isn't as bad as I thought. 1 Quote
Catherine Posted May 3, 2024 Report Posted May 3, 2024 I bumped to the single-user and that also kept the price down a bit more. Everything is going up. Time to raise my prices! Quote

I know this is waaaay late ... but I just saw this thread. I purchased via Sigma the past two years. Drake told me they provide support, regardless where you purchase it. I've had no issue getting support directly from Drake. 3 1 Quote
