Dan
How would you deduct on Schedule C the purchase of a vacuum cleaner? Is it possible to use section 179 and deduct the total amount? The vacuum cleaner was purchase in regard to a house cleaning business.

RJM
If you book it as a Sucker, you can just deduct it as Office Supplies.

GeneInAlabama
If its a canister use code sec r2d2, if an upright use code section 3cpo. I guess my mind just isn't working today. I have tried saying these out loud fast, I've tried saying them out loud slowly, and nothing clicks. I won't be able to get any work done until someone explains this to me. I'm probably the only one in the world that doesn't get it.

Margaret CPA in OH
Think Star Wars and the droids - androids. R2D2 was similar in shape to a canister vacuum cleaner and 3CPO was upright, humanoid in shape but upright. You ARE familiar with Star Wars, are you not? GeneInAlabama
Thanks everyone. Now I can get back to work. I guess I'm the only human that hasn't seen that movie.
jainen
>>You ARE familiar with Star Wars, are you not?<< Time to dust off that old DVD gift set. Catherine
So THAT is what Star Wars was about! I always wondered. There are two other spoofs -- ThumbWars (StarWars done on thumb characters) and Lucas In Love. Very funny. Catherine
