  2. Too bad they don't let us use emojis in the password. I think I'd use (unless the various hand emojis were permitted).

  4. IRS has an audit technique guide on legal settlements. My reading of that guide leads me to conclude that settlements due to death are generally not taxable. if the settlement earns interest of course that will be taxable. I always read a copy of the settlement document.

  7. I’ve been using 1099Express for several years (after a client began to exceed 250 forms per year). Their combined package (e-file plus Print & Mail) is outstanding, although it’s also possible to choose only the e-file option if you like stuffing envelopes and mailing by hand Their eVerify service is also reasonably priced. A great resource for avoiding the hassle of B notices. Fine company with great customer service. Here’s their link if you want to check them out https://1099express.com/

  8. This has nothing to do with the requirements for issuing 1099-NEC, nor with the requirement that credit card processors report ALL credit/debit payments to merchants on a 1099-K. This is only for third party payment processors (e.g., Paypal, CashApp, Uber, AirBnB, etc), where a third party accepts a payment on behalf of someone. See the announcement here: https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-announces-delay-in-form-1099-k-reporting-threshold-for-third-party-platform-payments-in-2023-plans-for-a-threshold-of-5000-for-2024-to-phase-in-implementation

  9. I have a new favorite emoji. I found it on my phone but I don't see it here. It is an angry face like JohnH posted, but it explodes into about 20 little heads. I wish I knew how to get it from my phone to here. Best emoji ever. Tom Longview, TX

  11. I always have issues logging in as well; to the point where I want to scream. Today I tried to stay calm. Once in, installation went very smoothly and quickly. I am still using 10 for ATX.

  13. Not so bad this year. Once I got logged in, the download went smoothly. I also received my Record of Completion Credentials today. Tomorrow I can concentrate on cooking.

  14. Isn't that the truth? I don't have the oxygen but have been attending these classes since 2009. My goal is to take away at least one new item of knowledge as well as the certificate and the credential. Another successful year. Happy learning to all of you!
