  1. Search for atx.exe, find the one in the ATX2024 folder, right click, send to desktop (create shortcut). My complaint with the icon is that when you install ATX updates, the install deletes and re-adds the icon so it's not where I had it, and I have to move it. WTF ATX?

  4. Finally found what I mentioned earlier about residents of some states receiving the 1099-K because of lower reporting thresholds. The statement below is from PayPal, but I remember the same statement in the email from Square.

  5. It is my understanding that the tuition credit follows the exemption; regardless of who actually pays it.

  6. Full service payroll would be generating paychecks and advising +/or making the payroll deposits for the client, much like payroll services like Paychex or ADP provides. It sounds like you are doing after-the-fact write-up work and the quarterly and annual tax filing.

  7. Judy, I forget about the trash bin. Let me start there. Thanks for the detailed explanation. And voila'! The icon was in the recycle bin, from which I was able to restore it to the desktop. Gremlins were at work on my computer in my absence. It is d/c'd from the internet when I am not at work. Thank you !!!!!!!!

  9. There's also a topic here on this site that explains how you can put an authenticator on your desktop and do not need a smartphone.

  10. Apparently, ATX has trashed the whole double authentication thing. Nice, after we spent mega pages and time trying to figure out and help each other with how to do it.

  11. I was sceptical, but case laws says that is correct; a transfer of an appreciated asset is not an assignment of income. HAROLD N. SHELDON, 62 TC 96, 04/25/1974 "An operating farmer who donates crops to a charity before he recognizes income from them is not required to include the value of the crops in his income.2 The farmer has merely assigned to the charity a property asset which has appreciated in value. Neither the harvesting nor the donative transfer of the product of his capital and services is a taxable event. See Campbell v. Prothro, 209 F.2d 331 (C.A. 5, 1954); Stuart A. Rogers, 38 T.C. 785 (1962); and White v. Brodrick, 104 F.Supp. 213 (D.Kan. 1952), appeal dismissed per curiam 198 F.2d 751 (C.A. 10, 1952); cf. Tatum v. Commissioner, 400 F.2d 242, 246-247 (C.A. 5, 1968), affirming"

  12. Talked to Drake again this morning. Their response was "You must have a smart phone to obtain the authentication feature. We don't have an alternative and we're not going to have one." Very bad....

  13. I use ProSystem fx, just had an update Sunday, but do NOT have an option to keep me authenticated. I need my iPhone stuck to my wrist like that thing the quarterbacks wear!
